Just got my game key from UGK today, only £22 with 5% off !

Any one else getting it for the PC ?

I've abandoned it for my PS3 this year for four reason's -

1. The price for console games (FIFA for one is too much & each year get's more), FIFA is one of those games that like a new car ! You pay full price & a year later its under half the price.
2. The Missus hogging the TV & I've sold my old HDMI montior for a Hazro.
3. They have placed in Keyboard & mouse support this year.
4. To kick "Shaithis" ass like I did in the 90's -hahaha-

If you "Like" them (thats seems to be the trend ATM) on Facebook they send out Promo codes & the one I used was valid until the 25th so I did'nt post that one. It was on for £23 & the 5% gave me a masive £1.18 off, wasnt much but still a good price...

Yes, one of my friends had the same & thought the same as you ? He didn't go through with it so I can't be sure !

VPN to the USA baby.... Had a go & it looks great !

Yeah, VPN.
It is really nice, a lot more realistic than any other version I can think of.

Has a whiff of sensible soccer with the way the ball can ping off you when your players control was poor, which I like and you can actually tackle someone AND get away with the ball now!

Really enjoying the new gameplay.....graphics look a touch sharper over 12 as well.

One big downer though is the lack of player-manager mode Career is either player or manager.....while the player career looks quite good (and is new), I am a little miffed they removed the other mode for it.

The new challenges are fairly decent as well, although some are substantially harder then others!

The game play is looking the sharp in 1440p !

Played 3 games & the tackling is better, the passing is better too with some passes going astray from time to time (unlike other FIFA's where they are like robots/German's not putting a pass out).

I need to get myself a pad as I used the PS3 with some software from the Net & it didn't work well as the button' were'nt mapped in the right places !

I should mention that i was using Spotflux to play it, but it wouldn't let me connect to Origin to use the online modes etc so i had to play it offline.

Aye, it doesn't look too bad here - i've got it running downsampled from 2880*1620 to 1080p with some TrSSAA added on top.

Edit: Shaithis, manager mode is pretty much the traditional campaign where you can do all the transfer gubbins as well as play/simulate matches. It's been a while since i've played FIFA properly (since about '11) but it seesm they've got rid of all the other aspects you could put money into such as stadium manager etc - although being able to higher scouts is here. I can't find anyway to track if your players improve or not either, which is a bit pants.

In that regard, it seems FIFA is still not offering a decent alternative to PES' Master League

I think the team building side is meant to be taken care of by Ultimate Team which is their micro transactions sort of thing (although you don't need to put real money in). I've pre-ordered boxed copy of Fifa 13, (only because I resent paying MORE on a digital distribution platform with much lower overheads). Played alot of FIFA 12 on the PC, the Ultimate Team community was far less than on consoles especially in later months (which kind of sucks because it relies on like an open market auction for trading cards), but always been able to get a quick-match very easily so the community playing online is fairly large.

I definitely think the biggest change over Fifa 12 is the first touch thing, which I quite like. You can get unlucky / lucky with first touch and it also massively matters how good the player is at control ,ie you dont want to try and bring stuff down on your centre backs chest, just boot it clear, because you cant trust it not to just bounce off straight to the other team! Free Kicks improved a bit as well, in other regards its a FIFA update, so its always going to be incremental. Fifa 12 was a much bigger change with "Tactical Defending". As with COD if you want to play online you have to upgrade every year just to keep getting people to play against!
