    Gamesave Manager

I'm fed up with constantly having to monitor where new games keep their save files, adding them to a backup list and checking they restore OK, so I had a quick look on Google to see if there's an easier way I'm overlooking.

    I found this: http://www.gamesave-manager.com/

I'm in the process of checking it out, but based on what it says on the tin it looks excellent for PC gamers!

I have no involvement with the software BTW, it just looks really useful. Let me know what you think.

I'm wondering how it will handle GFWL games as in the past I've backed up just the saves, only to find you can't actually use them without your Live profile folder, which OFC I didn't think to back up before formatting. Considering it lists several GFWL games, the developers have probably thought of it, but I'll have to test it to make sure.

    Re: Gamesave Manager

It does recognise the xlive folder used by GFWL, which is obviously a good thing.

AFAICT so far, it seems like a great bit of software with a lot of effort put into it. For example, for supported games, it backs up saves while ignoring things like logs/patches/etc to save space. Obviously not every game in existence will be supported, but just check through and you can easily add a custom rule.

It supports scheduled backups, and will back up to FTP, Dropbox and other 'cloud' drives.

    Re: Gamesave Manager

InsaneMatt and I also crawl around the net e.g (like this) and see if there's any suggestions thrown around for GSM, the dedicated website doesn't get much attention thus I'll be attempting to expand into various communities (Give's me something to do while the developer gets down and dirty with the nitty gritty).

Hopefully you'll enjoy the software, If you have any questions or concerns do not be afraid to ask.

Thanks for dropping by, and welcome to Hexus!

The software seems fairly intuitive but I'll ask if I get stuck with anything.

    Re: Gamesave Manager

I've been using it for a while now, I think it's great, but increasingly many new games are giving you cloud sync features so that your progress is not only backed up for but can also be made available for you to continue the game on another PC in another location.

Indeed! This program is mainly just for people getting control back into there own data. InsaneMatt could implement his own cloud solution, but its quite pointless when there is so many cloud services that people are already using that it's just easier to tap into a variety of them instead. Keeps costs low. And more importantly, free for everyone.

Will be browsing around seeing what this place offers Cheers
