    Casual City Builder type game?

Well, day two of my redundancy and I am already going stir crazy waiting for people to get back to me! I am lookign for a casual game to get into to keep me entertained. I enjoy Minecraft, but have a real hankering to play a game like Pharaoh, which i used to several years ago.

Can anyone recommend a good City Build type game?

What about Sim City 2000 on GOG? (www.gog.com)

I got the Settlers 2 from there, there's some really good Old Skool stuff on there...

i realise it's not casual and the 75% off steam sale has just ended but tropico 4 is a great city building game, worth checking out if you have the time and willing to try and get into it. well worth it imo

Re: Casual City Builder type game?

How about Tropico 3, its absolutely brilliant and very humorous also.

Each island works as scenario you have to overcome, whether it is industry to get money or thriving tourism. Then you have some decent micro management when it comes to the factions and their demands on the island. You get 4 years to complete each island and still be in power at the end of your term.

    http://store.steampowered.com/app/23490/

Tropico 1&2 are decent but your islands can get a bit messy as you can't rotate buildings and whatnot, Tropico 4 is more the same as the third one, personally think the third installment is the best one, out of the 4 games the third one is the one I always go back to.

I absolutely love Tropico 4. It's a very good game.

From Dust is also good. Only played it once, on a iGPU so my experience was a bit underwhelming.

Still a month till simCity comes out, but there is also the cities XL series, though I have never played it.

other possibility is something along the lines of minecraft and manually build your own city block by block.
