    Star Wars The Old Republic

I'm surprised there isn't already a thread for this. I downloaded SWTOR over Christmas and, being my first MMO, have found it to be superb fun.

Though many feel its more of a single player game with other people running round the same world, but I've found that teaming up with others is essential for some missions.

The item (lightsaber, armour) crafting and Standard, Legacy and Social XP progression is brilliant.

I might be a novice at this kind of thing, but I've found that during my sessions of BLOPS2 and Far Cry 3 I'm actually thinking about playing SWTOR.

Anyone else enjoying The Old Republic?

Oh, I've just got my first character to level 15. Time to get my driving licence and starship.. Woo!!!

Re: Star Wars The Old Republic

Me and my brother downloaded it over Christmas as well, since it's free now and we both were so sad when they went for that rather than KOTOR3.

We're enjoying it, but due to all of the other people running around the story doesn't really grab me, (when you see 20 copies of the same companion helping other people etc)
Quite fun to play, currently a consular, just got to level 10.

Re: Star Wars The Old Republic

Played it for a while then got really bored. Item crafting is pretty dull, and the XP progression is pretty much same old, same old. It's the gameplay that's the worst though - it's very like a generic fantasy role playing game set in the star wars universe, and for all the shallow stories behind quests they are the same old fedex/go here kill x monsters/kill this boss stuff that we've had from loads of games before. The star wars theme isn't enough to make up for repackaging it again for yet another game.
