    Question gamekeysplus.com - Legit?

Just came across this site, which is offering steam codes, for a fraction of the price. For example, they are advertising 63% off Euro Truck Sim 2, which is £22 on steam, but on their site its just over $10 - http://www.gamekeysplus.com/retail-c...-game-key.html

    Anyone used them beofore? Recommendations?

EDIT: Went through an order, and got to the pay with paypal screen. All the text was in what appears to be Polish, and they are charging in American dollars (plus their paypal account is registered to a Gmail address). Cant decide whether to go through with the purchase through paypal or not...

I would honestly be aware that a lot of these cheap key sellers can be a bit dubious. Quite a few of them are based in Russia so you could end up getting a localised Russian version of the game and key.

Spend a little extra and get your keys from a known reputable source.

Keep an eye on the following sites for good deals that are 100% legit :

Greenman Gaming (Make sure it is Steam and not their own client)
    Get Games
Gamefly (Make sure it is Steam and not their own client)
    Gamersgate
    ShopTo

Aye, gave it a miss in the end, looked to suspicious for my liking. Was going to give that Euro Truck Sim 2 game a go, after I read a good review in a PC gamer mag, but dont fancy spending £20 on it, as that sort of thing is not my usual cup of tea, but wouldnt mind giving it a try. Will wait and see if steam do a weekend deal on it.

Steam have banned accounts for using keys from other regions before, so be careful no matter what route you take.

    Re: gamekeysplus.com - Legit?

I've found grey-market key sites to be a bit hit and miss. Be particularly wary if there is any mention of using a VPN or replacing files to activate the game. The games are sold for much less in some regions so they are simply buying copies of the games at business rates, then reselling these for a margin to countries where these games would normally cost a lot more. Obviously, publishers really want to crack down on this so don't be surprised if you find you end up with a revoked activation or problems obtaining updates etc. If you use Steam, you could consider trading on their Forums as I've got some really good deals this way. You'd be surprised what people have in their gift inventories. Don't pay attention to mentions of keys/steam wallets on the trading forums as you should only be trading games from your gift inventories - these other methods don't go in the trading window so you risk getting ripped off.

Trustpilot is a fairly good resource for making a purchasing decision when looking at these companies. I've actually had plenty of success with purchasing from key sites but only after due diligence. Usually for these sorts of keys, Valve can remove the game from your library if you have circumvented their region controls by using a VPN. I haven't heard about whole steam accounts being blocked except in cases where they have received a charge back or a stolen credit card has been used. It is the risk you take though.
