Kickstarter - Wildman (Action RPG/RTS Hybrid) - Chris Taylor (Supreme Commander fame)

Just getting the word out for this one. Gas Powered Games are going through some tough times and this Kick Starter is a massive deal for them. It is potentially make or break for GPG as we know it. While I'm not overly keen on the game personally (although I am open minded enough to say it looks potentially interesting). I'm backing Chris in support of the independant and fantastic games GPG have made in the past. We need to support developers who are willing to take risks and that's why I'm supporting them - I'm hoping some of you will too.

Spread the word, lets get this kickstarted.

I really admire Chris Taylor, and think he has some great insights into game theory.. however I'm not sure he should be doing this kickstarter:

IMHO kickstarters should not be the lifeline for your company.

At the moment Wildman also has the wiff of DemiGod about it, which was not a great game from GPG (although arguably it was just ahead of its time given the popularity of MOBA these days.)

I'm completely with you Kalniel. But I'd hate to see GPG go down....I've got 6+ years out of Supreme Commander, and I still play it. To be honest I feel guilty I've have 6 years of fun for £30? I would happily subscribe to this game for a yearly subscription of £30 or so, hence I'm happy to fund any game he wants to make, GPG owe me nothing, and I want these kind of studios to continue existing.

I think Chris Taylor is an excellent games designer, but a truely terrible businessman.

Compared to say Unknown Worlds. I loved NS1, and thought any venture by the guys behind it deserved a few quid, so ages ago I actually bought two copies of NS2.

The point is that they where all in on the shoe string. They weren't a big team and made something amazing.

They had incredible cost control, and proved not just to be great developers, but also great business people.

I'm sorry Chris, but this just makes me think WTF.
