Has anyone got any gaming mouse recommendations?! FPS games played mostly. For average sized hands don't want anything to big! No need for copious amounts of extra buttons but a few would be nice. Thanks in advance!

I can highly recommend the Corsair M60. Small, extremely responsive, 5 buttons + sniper control.
Hello
I got an 8000dpi mouse a few weeks ago and apart from being:
1) not skilled enough to take advantage of the available precision
2) not really bothered about weight distribution - through them all in - no RSI or OOS so far :)
Quite a good price and quite a good size compromise - not the biggest, nor too small - probably holdable for all hands.
I likes it anyways (equally as much as, or, maybe, more than, my Microsofts, Razers, Logitechs and Gigabyte)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Cheers
a mouse with a high dpi resolution is what you'll be after if playing FPS' i don't really want to recommend a product since the rest will come down to personal choice but if you're after products to look over i've got a logitech g9x
Have a look at the Cyborg R.A.T Series. Excellent mice.
I find the Razer Imperator to be a fairly good mouse for FPS gaming, and I've heard good things about the logitech G500.
Depends on what sort of grip you use, claw grip, palm grip or something in between those two. I suggest you check some out at a store before you purchase as mice are like shoes.
This is quite a descriptive guide when it comes to mice: http://www.head-fi.org/t/412804/all-...guide-mouse-fi
I use a microsoft basic mouse, with a claw grip and find it OK, but it is on its last legs.
Last week, for my birthday, I got a Razer Naga Molten Special Edition off my missus (for she is a legend :) ).
Lovely in the hand (I have smallish hands too), with teflon feet (for smoothness). And if you stray away from FPS it also has 12 thumb buttons for MMO action.
I have used Roccat Kone + their extremely responsive very customizable and they have the ability to cross talk with the Roccat Isku Keybaord so you can pair them for extra macro hotkeys on the fly. Fits both left and right hands nice and snug comfort check em out
I'd personally have a look at Zowie.
Currently using a Zowie EC1 Evo which I love, also had a go using the AM, which was nice, but too small for my hands :(
They don't muck about with lots of 'fancy' features, just plug and play with a couple of dpi settings, decent sensors and a couple of thumb buttons :)
Out of the myriad of mice I've used over my gaming 'career' I'd recommend the Logitech mx518 and the Gigabyte m6900 as far as quality, precision and bang for your buck go.
Razer Mamba 2012. Amazing mouse
Logitec G5 oldschool :)
Nice suggestions. Need to upgrade from my Microsoft Wireless 5000 set. :S
Yeah Zowie are great.
own the corsair M60 , decent mouse. Although you can get the new M65 for about the same price, but thats with higher dpi (8200). All depends on what you prefer, "feel" of the mouse is an important factor. You can probably try out a few in stores.
You'll find that everyone has their own preference, but I'd say that the most important consideration to make is if you want to 'claw' or 'palm' grip your mouse. Razer have a guide for this here.
Personally I have the Logitech G700 and in my opinion you can't go wrong with Logitech's G-series mice. Any extra buttons on the side are useful for most games - I have prone, crouch, kit gadgets etc. on these in BF3 for example.
Edit: Oh, I've just noticed this is an old thread bumped - you've probably already bought it! :p
I currently use a SteelSeries Sensei Raw (black rubberised coating) for FPS gaming.
It's a nice product -- I'd have no qualms about recommending it to others.
The shape is symmetrical -- it can be used by left or right handed persons. In fact, in many respects, it reminds me of the Microsoft "Intelli-Mouse" 1.1 shape in terms of feels in the hand. (That's a good thing in my opinion.) I believe it would suit any grip style, although my own is mostly "claw" or a "soft claw".
It has two main buttons, 2 extra buttons on both the left and right sides, and a scroll wheel (which can also be pressed as a "button"). The lighting and sensitivity settings are fully customisable via very simple software. (I personally turn off the lighting, but this is down to personal preference.)
The availability of a low-key/tasteful mousemat and keyboard (e.g., 6GV2) to go with it is a bonus.
I've got myself a Logitech G9 and it really suits me (Once I configured the refresh rate a dpi). But I'm thinking of getting a Logitech G400 or G500 when this one goes pop, I really like that MX518 feel that they have, ah... the good old days.
i would recomend any roccat products they do gaming mouse, keyboards, headsets and stuff like that
iv got there first gaming mouse (roccat kone) and its the best mouse iv ever had well recomend them
there newer gaming mouse can work well with there keyboards so if u play a game alot u can set up a profile and both mouse and keyboard will chat to each other have a read up about it
I use a Steelseries Ikari Laser mouse on a glass Ice Mat. In FPS games I find this set up allows for fast mouse movement and also because the base is flared on the right hand side I can drop my little finger down to contact both the mat and the mouse to quickly stabilise for focusing on headshots etc and then go back to rapid movement. I do find that the left button does seem to wear after a while (I'm currently on my third) and although its still a perfectly serviceable mouse it does become a bit hit and miss for FPS gaming. Hope this info helps.
Corsair M60 is a pretty nifty device!
I use a Logitech G400, It's a great mouse and looks simple which I like a lot.
I can also vouch for the SteelSeries Sensei Raw (Also Rubberised).
I'd also recommend the g400 although logitech have brought out a new range of Gx00s models which you might wanna check out
Go for the RAT 5 from Cyborg. Been using it for about 6 months now and it has been really good. It has a high sensitivity and you can customize the buttons using their program.
I use the Cyborg M.M.O 7 and love it but mice I find to be very much down to personal preference. Adjustable more or less everything on the mmo7 helps a lot (Thumb, Palm, Little Finger, Weight).
I adore my Razer DeathAdder, simple can't beat it.
Higher DPI is not always better imo.
Mice are a thing thats best suited to the user. If you have big hands you would want to natually opt for a larger mouse. I have currently used Zowie AM (made my hand ache for being too small!), Zowie EC2 Evo (awesome most but again could do with it being slightly larger), MS 3.0 (legendary mouse but technology is now old), steelseries Ikari (what a cheap heap of cr*p) and the Razer Deathadder 2012. Out of all of them the most comfortable is the Deathadder and best quality.
If it was me, I would opt for the Deathadder 2013.
A lot of it depends on the grip you use. I personally have a Zowie Mico which is teeny tiny, but ideal for the way I use my mouse.
Although i am very tempted to buy a Kinzu to compare it to, braided cable and better switches would be nice.
I love mouse advice threads in enthusiast forums. The first 30 posts usually involve about 28 different mice and the OP ends up more confused than ever :D
haha Shirty101 I was thinking the same thing. End of the day its down to personal preference, hand size and left/right handed... so everyone has their own choices they have found the best.
Apart from the customisation options I listed above I just love the Transformer like look of my MMO7:
http://icrontic.com/uploads/features...topexplode.jpg
Transformers eat your heart out!
if your a claw gripper m65 just came out a few months ago and its great.
high dpi
weight management
all round comfortable
I have the following
G9x Logitech
Corsair M65 White
Coolermaster Storm inferno
Coolermaster Sentinal
Razer Deathadder
and an old MX518 logitech
to two that I rate the best is the Logtitech G9x (software is the best and you cannot beat logitech for warranty)
and the coolermaster storm inferno.
But we all have different shaped hands and feel things differently.
G500
Every. Damn. Time.
I love mine too, but I suspect that for many the slight shape revision from the traditional MX518 might appear undesirable.
Yeah well that always happens :D
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00A...ls_o03_s00_i01
Been playing with this mouse for about a week and I have to say for the little money it costs, it is a well made and responsive mouse.
I honestly thought it would be to cheap to be any good. I am happy to say I was wrong.
If it hasn't already been said, I think the G400 is a very good mouse, basically a newer MX
I love my little Razer Orochi, nothing too fancy and the batteries for the 'optional' bluetooth provide a nice weight.
I'm still using my Intellimouse explorer 3.0 :p
Logitech G400 looks good value if buying now? TBH I feel no difference with super high DPI or polling rates it's all marketing jazz to me!
I have the logitech G500, very nice mouse for big hands, and has very simple side buttons, none of that 12 button shenanigans that one of the razer mouse has!
I would stay away from razer and cyborg mice they are very plasticy and feel cheap and a lot of people say they break easily.
If you want something that will feel nice and are well built I would get something like the m65 or g500 I personally went with the m65 and I love it the only issue I have is that the sniper button is slightly out of reach of my thumb but its not that helpfull in most games without you are really far away like when you sniping on red orchestra when you can only see a tiny bit of their head and every bit of movement needs to be tiny to perfect the shot.
Logitech G500
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-G50...&keywords=g500
Great mouse. :woowoo:
For what it's worth, I've had a Logitech G5 mouse for 6 years or so. Not had any issues with it at all, feels great in the hand and performs well enough for my needs.
It doesn't look like it's readily buyable any more.
The Logitech G500, however, is readily available and seems to be the 'upgraded' version of my mouse. So, despite the fact you've probably already bought your mouse, I'd also lean towards the Logitech G500..
i bought the steelseries sensei raw over the weekend. 32 sheets from asda which is a healthy saving. also picked up the quickr mat for half the usual rrp.
mouse seems like a nice smooth motion, good buttons on top. scroller is a bit clunky, but with goodnotches to make sure you go as far as you want.
im getting wound up with the side buttons for page up/down in the browser already, so will look at turning them off tonight.
Cyborg R.A.T. 3 if you're after an entry level and 7 if you have a bit more money to spend.
The on-the-fly DPI changes are great, and the build quality on both is superb (even if the 3 feels a little plasticy - it's only £30ish though). But if you have big hands, you can't go wrong with either.
I have a Cyborg R.A.T. 3. I love it and would recommend it to anyone. If you have the money, go for the R.A.T 7 or 9.
Gaming mouse:
- Mad Catz R.A.T. 7/9 (Not sure if you'll like, some complain about size)
- Corsair Vengeance M60/M90
I've got the razer deathadder and found it to be a good mouse, its got 5 buttons so not too many. The design is nice and feels nice when using it. However, I have had to claim warranty due to the mouse double clicking when single clicking but this may just be a faulty one.
Wife's Roccat is surprisingly nice, and my R.A.T.7 is highly adjustable.
Skip Razer, the build quality is crap.
I've always used a Logitech or Razer but some good suggestions in the thread so might have to change once this Naga goes.
I'm going to put my vote for the R.A.T. 3. Extremely happy with it and the ergonomics are very good in my opinion. That its not too expensive is a big advantage aswell.
It's an odd looking thing but seems to get rave reviews.
Despite my earlier post about my G5 not having any problems at all, it's now developed what seems to be a fairly common problem where the cable seems to cause the mouse to disconnect and reconnect.
Do any wired mice endure for more than a few years? Or are we all doomed to buy a new one every few years..?
I have the Corsair M90 and I love it. It does have all those extra buttons you don't want, but I'm sure you could find a use for them. Set up different profiles for different games and enjoy being extra lazy and setting your the extra buttons to things like reload and crouch. For FPS one of the best features if the dedicated sniper button, hold it down and it'll instantly lower your sensitivity to whatever you want it to be!
Would definitely recommend the Logitech G500. Great, solid mouse, versatile, tried and tested ergonomics.
My other vote would go to the Steelseries mice. The XAI is an awesome mouse in its own right, especially for FPS players.
Then there's the Steelseries SENSEI, if you've got a high budget, I'd thoroughly recommend it, give it a search online, it's a fantastic mouse designed for tournament level players in mind.
I would say whatever mouse you purchase in the end, make sure you buy a good surface (mouse pad) to go with it. Steelseries surfaces (hope I don't sound like a fanboy! they are a quality company) are a good choice. I've got the 4HD with the G500, and it is a dream pairing. There's a wide range, but make sure your mouses sensor etc. is coupled with a good surface.
Currently using the Razer Imperator 2012, which is quite good, but I do miss my old Logitech G400.
I've been using the Logitech G500. It's pretty epic!
Not the best mouse if you have small hands as its quite big.
Got the option of additional weight to the move, configurable buttons and its 5700dpi.
Quite cheap too - http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002P0MIRG
I am still using a Logitech MX510, its the older brother to the MX518. Had this mouse for nearly 8 years now, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
Razer DeathAdder has many great reviews. Plus they've made a 2013 version too with extra improvements like a 4G sensor, 6400 dpi and rubberised grips.
TteSports Level 10
I'd suggest Razer Deathadder. It's a really simple pointer with no gimmicks. I've been using the 3.5g version since it came out I think 3-4 years ago with only a minor problems 6 months ago. It started double clicking everything but I hit a couple and it fixed itself :P
Still rocking my V1 G5 that i got from my mum for one of my birthdays 10 years ago, I have not found a mouse to replace it yet.
Steelseries Sensei, as I am lefthanded mouser, Corsair M65 is great but is right hander only. Shame there is not a verion for southpaws.
My M.M.O 7 started giving me problems so I got a 2013 Razer Deathadder and loving it so far.
I have a steelseries Sensei and its amazingly comfy.
In the 1 year I've had it its RMA's 3 times due to something going wrong with it. Either SS have really gone downhill, or I'm very unlucky.
I've got the Cyborg RAT 7 - It took a while to find a surface it liked, and it really doesn't like my cat ('s hair around the lens)
I think I would go for the Corsair M95 if I had a choice now - The Shogun Bros. Mk-1 Ballista has been reviewed well
Gunna look like a peasant here but I got a 2000DPI wireless mouse for £2.92 delivered on ebay. Ideal for the budget/casual gamer
logitech g500s. have it and it is amazing.
If not this then definately a razer Deathadder. ;)
Roccat Kova + works well for me. Great configuration options, customisable lighting and variable DPI. Fits well in the hand so very comfortable.
razer deathadder still king in my option not sure if the 2013 worth the money do just get black edition cheaper does the same job
All recommended above are good however each would feel differently so make sure to try them in your hand before you buy it. Not all of them may be good for your type of grip.
I would recommend the razer deathadder 2013 edition, had no issues with it so far.
I have the G5 which is great and is around 8 or 10 years. I think the DPI buttons are starting to go but I am not sure.
Has anyone tried the Roccat Kone XTD?
Corsair m60/m65 is amazing. My friend reckons his razer deathadder 2013 is better. If i was you i would buy a bunch of mice from amazon, try them out and send the rest back.
Razer deathadder. Classic and just re-released with higher dpi settings too.
Razer Deathadder^^ still loving it despite being old and ruggy
Would have loved the new revamped Deathadder, sadly there appears to be no left handed version as yet, so the Steelseries Sensei was my choice.
If you're looking for value for money I can personally recommend the corsair m40, I've had it for a few months now and I can only say great things about it! :)
Being an owner of a Microsoft Intellimouse 3 and 4, Razer DeathAdder and a Roccat Kone XTD, I would recommend the Roccat Kone XTD. This mouse is perfect for MOBA, MMORPG and FPS. It has 12 buttons and can be doubled to 24(-1) buttons with the Easyshift feature. It’s a fully customisable mouse with a great host of useful features. You can even program the scrollwheel to a macro if you wanted. It has a ridiculous DPI range from 200-8200DPI (3200DPI is enough for me tbh)
The build quality is fantastic and uses quality Japanese Omron switches (rated at 5 million clicks) with an insanely heavy duty scrollwheel (withstand up to 3.5KG).
I would buy this mouse again because it’s so good, despite it’s high price tag.
I hate the RAT's.
QPAD 5K
Razer deathadder
or my current mouse is so comfortable with a low dpi button the Func MS-3.
Oh and Roccat Kone is a great all rounder, well worth the price tag.
I used the Copperhead back in the days. What a supermouse that was!
The logitec g5 was disappointing. Never really understood the gimick of adjustable weights.
Now using the razer lachesis. Don't feel 100% with it but still a good mouse.
I purchased the TeckNet X9800 as a cheap gaming mouse (plus I wanted 3 mouse buttons on the side to help with quite a few games) and it's not let me down so far....though it's only been 6 months so touch wood! It is a bit tacky and the weight doesn't feel right for the size/shape, after using other gaming mice you can tell that it's not the most high quality mouse but it gets the job done and the performance has been pretty top notch.
Maybe I'm just a sucker for cheap mice but there's so many on Amazon I would love to try. Can't vouch for these at all but would love to use 'em!
Redragon® Perdition (Who really needs 16400 DPI?!?!?)
aLLreli M811Lu - Black
Walsoon JS-X9 9D Sword Master X9
The Cyborg Rat was good to me until the micro-switches wore out after a year, until that point it was responsive and felt nice to use while gaming (I always felt it was a bit on the small side though)
Logitech G700s, got it today, so ergonomic, tracks good and the wireless is literally lag free!
logitech g500s is awesome fits well in the hand, has an unlockable scroll wheel and goes upto 8000 dpi
I've recently purchased the Logitech G502 which reportedly has an amazing sensor, better than the G402 and the Razer Deathadder. I would recommend looking it up. Keep in mind that Logitech have an excellent track record when it comes to mice in terms of technology used, the build quality and value. The same cannot be said for Razer products. You could get the older Logitech G500 series for great value right now.
I would advise against Roccat products as they feature some of the most incompetent sensors I've ever seen in a mouse.
Corsair M60/M65 are great products and Mad Catz isn't bad either (if you're willing to shell out ridiculous amount of money on a mouse).
PS: Don't go for wireless mice. Not only are they annoying (constantly need charging), they cannot compete with the response time of a wired mouse.
After using the Logitech g600 for a few months i have to say its a little heavy, and wide. And I'm 6'4 so it's not like I have small hands!
My friend had the razer naga wich was longer and lighter, so i would probably recommend that.
You need Razer DeathAdder Elite, best for FPS games, ofc if you like the shape.
Loved my deathadder but then one of the switches in it went. If razer stuff lasted as long as corsair I would be all over it. Anything by corsair or razer will probably be fine

If you like the old Microsoft Optical Mouse, as seen here:
https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....ZL._SX355_.jpg
Then I can highly recommend the Nixeus Revel:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nixeus-REVE.../dp/B01HHGHCH8
I actually think it's better. About 8 dpi settings, 2 side buttons for your thumb. Basic but solid mouse for £30.
FWIIW, I really like my Razer Deathadder: a good weight/balance and responsive buttons too.
I'll mirror what i said in the other mouse recommendations thread. I've played many hours of CS and i've chosen the Logitech G203 as my latest mouse. Great ambidextrous design. can't fault it. very similar to the Zowie FK1.
