    Re: Tomb Raider

I have this on the Xbox (which doesn't make it that much different to the PC version... just not as pretty). It's very very pretty

I'm very pleased with it and enjoying it. The moments the game takes over, i.e. crawling through spaces and moving into cutscenes, are not game breaking in any way.

It's certainly dragged me away from Guild Wars 2 for a while.

    Re: Tomb Raider

I think this is the best game this year so far.

The story is awesome, the art and animation is great, the audio is awesome, playing this with a 7.1 setup just blows you away while playing it at 5670x1080.

Sure, there is some problems with the game, but that's okay. I'm highly looking forward to the next game, hope they add more puzzles this time round.

    Just finished this,

How on any planet is this inferior to a game from 1996,

I think that moving the aspect of the game toward a Uncharted-esque style of gameplay is a genius move by Crystal Dynamics.

    Re: Tomb Raider

Picked this up with the graphics card. It looks good for a quick play through though it doenst appear to have the same longevity as some others out at the moment.

Once i've finished with Dishonored i'll turn it on and see, hopefully the story makes up for the length.

    Re: Tomb Raider

Finished the game. I have to say I'm impressed. Not many games make me play through to completion forsaking other games that I might also be dipping into, but I really felt like any gaming time I wanted to be playing TR. In my mind its not that short, it just felt short because I was enjoying it!

    Re: Tomb Raider

Anyone tried it on lower end hardware? Not sure how it'll do on my old 5750? i don't need high-end AA or huge resolutions, but needs to be playable at middling res on high texture quality....

    Re: Tomb Raider

That card may struggle at the moment, but then again couple of months down the line and the will probably be patches and newer drivers to improve the games performance as there is with every game

Depends on the resolution, 1600x1200 and under it should be able to cope with just, with some graphic settings turned down.

Yes you should! Got my copy free with a VTX3d 7870 Black and it runs on Ultimate @ 1080p. Looks amazing and good game play.

I've played it with a 5770 at 1920 x 1080 and it held up pretty well. Obviously not on ultra graphics but it still looks plenty pretty with a solid 30-40fps. I kept texture quality up so that should be ok. You'll definitely have to disable the fancy graphics for lara's hair though they destroy FPS.

    Re: Tomb Raider

I've been quite enjoying it, even though it's a bit QTE heavy for my liking (first 30 mins reminded me of Dragons Lair in terms of playability!!)

It is more of an interactive movie, rather then a proper game IMO. After a few hours, it does open up a lot more but then your halfway through the game....

Worth 15quid or so, maybe a bit more, IMO.

Might be better if TressFX @ 1080p didn't bring my GTX570 to it's knees

    Re: Tomb Raider

I'm playing it on PS3 and loving it, QTEs are a bit OTT sometimes but not too bad. Had a couple of late nights sat playing it and really, really enjoying it.
About 60% through I think, liking things like after a cut scene if she falls/etc she'll limp or act ni pain until the next 'scene'

Better than Uncharted and I can see where they could have let character development take a little more time but I realise the limitations.

Paid £25 for my copy and more than happy to pay that.

    Re: Tomb Raider

It's a great game. There were a few technical issues at launch and there are a few questionable design decisions (QTEs, tiny tombs, action focus) but it's definitely one of the better games in the past 6 months.
