Ah I guess I should've said "video reviews". My mistake! But thankyou for the links. I've seen one or two of them already but will glance through the others

Edit: I thought I'd start a thread so that anyone who's played the game can give their feedback. I was really confused by those reviews so thought it might be usefull!

TotalBiscuit's WTF is... Dirt 2 looks good. Basically says it's not enough to interest him long term, and not a huge improvement over the original.

Dirt 2 was better, 3 was a step back imo.

I bought Dirt 3 the other day after enjoying Grid 2. While it's been a few years since I played Dirt 2, I do remember enjoying more. At least the tracks it had anyway. They seemed way more fun and interesting. What is it that you think is worse about Dirt 3?

The progression, the way you unlock cars etc., the menus, the attitude, the prevalence of adverts for DLC and 'missing' tracks/series, the number of short events. The graphics are slightly better.. but in other ways I prefer Dirt 2.

Dirt 2 felt a little more "arcadey" to me. It hooked me because of the unlock progression, as I was always aiming towards the next thing... Dirt 3 just didn't quite capture the feeling of the second one. It's tough to put my finger on why though :/

Well I can see what you guys are saying. I think I'm feeling the same kinda things about Dirt 3. Annoying thing is, I actually have Dirt 2 on my Steam account. But the Windows Live crap wont let me play it >_< I hate Games for windows live with a passion...

GfwL is the bane of PC Gaming. Point made. Dirt 3 is worth getting if you don't want to put up with that crap.

It's never broken per se for me, but I'm fairly sure that it's wiped save games in the past. The thing that infuriates me is how long it takes to sign in to the damn thing, especially when I'm trying to play single player and the entire game menu is disabled until GFWL kicks in.

Yeah, that's pretty much the only thing I actually don't like about it

Re: Dirt 3 : worth getting?

I'm sick of all these stupid clients. I have a Steam account. What's wrong with that client for the game? I did buy it on Steam afterall.. What the hell does gfwl even do for the game? My steam account has no problem letting me play my games but this crap does. They just keep finding more and more barriers to put inbetween us and the games we've bought. I feel like you get actually get punished for paying for games these days! Once they've verified you've paid for it n all, can't they just take down these barriers....

Re: Dirt 3 : worth getting?

I'd second that Dirt 3 is a great addition to the series and more of a sideways step from 2 than a sequel. By that I mean it felt the same but with different locations.
