    Bioshock Infinite

Finally installed the game last night and so far i'm liking the new world they have made, although I do miss the under water theme of the first two. Not had any issues with the frame rate so far, although some slight frame rate drops at certain points but nothing to ruin the game. The only thing that bugs me is the auto save feature which is not needed, and the traditional save system could have been added with little work needed.

Also anyone get the upgrade pack card with their game? It gave you some gear power-ups, btu also some pc themes which I can't seem to find :|

edit: Found the themes- Right click on Bioshock Infinite in the steam library then properties, then local file sand browse.

    Re: Bioshock Infinite

I did not get the upgraded pack, only the basic version from Steam. The whole underwater theme was kind of getting old, not that I really felt like I was underwater with Bioshock since most of it was in tunnels, etc. With the previous Bioshock games being underwater and Bioshock Infinte being up in the sky, will the next Bioshock be just a 'normal' game on the ground? I agree that this game could use a manual save feature, there are some parts that are annoying to play over and over again if you get killed. I know, just don't die, right? Riiiiiiight...

This game is a breeze to run on older hardware across three screens. Props to the team at Irrational Games for allowing this game to be run in Eyefinity/Nvidia Surround out-of-the-box. With my setup, I am able to turn vsync on and run pretty close to 60 fps with pretty doggone decent settings! Anyone else out there running this game across multiple screens?

I never really got into the first Bioshock games, but I'm really enjoying Infinite. I'm just amazed at how much work has gone into the non-essential parts of the game. I'm spending far too long wandering past citizens listening to their conversations!

I'm running nvidia surround on 3 1080 screens, and think it's really well optimized. I set everything to ultra (680 SLI), and jumped right in- I haven't had to tweak anything.

Agreed on the savegame thing. I suspect console port syndrome. Now I spend a lot of time running back to door to leave the area and come back, just to get it to save.

I'm enjoying it but think it is also a bit of a linear shooter once you strip away all the artsy political posturing. I wish they'd developed the sneaky hacking type stuff a bit of Bioshock 1 rather than dumping it. Also you can only really listen/watch to the environment, not interact with it much. Overall looks nice, but a bit shallow other than the interesting sidekick feature (Elizabeth). Dishonored is by far the better game IMO.

I about there being little interaction with the environment, and yes Dishonored had a much better feel to it. I am enjoying the game even with some minor bits that are not right, and the sky line parts are good. Does anyone else think some of the guards you have to kill look to cartoonist ? Not sure why they have locked us with only two weapons and two power things, but guess thats some console thing.

j_b your right about the conversations that happen around you, but woudl have been nice if they used some different face models. I assume the reason why nearly all the female models look the same, is just down to the console ? Again i'm sure it woudl not have been that much work to have more faces models for the pc.

Finished it last night about 2am lol, well 1am really.

Couple of gripes, found the combat really boring in all honesty played the whole game using nothing but the shotgun and sniper rifle as i found no real reason to use anything else, same with the vigor's, lightning and devils kiss were all i needed. Played it on normal might be better on hard or 1999 mode. The plot twist sadly worked out before i actually got to the end so was like oh so it was that.

As for the good parts loved the city and view even if the floating buildings made me sea sick lol. Elizabeth was extremely well acted and believable in most cases, by far one of the best single player game sidekicks up their with Dog and the Companion cube.

Personally I'd say it was a 8/10 as it lacked some of the punch of the original bioshock and ferocity, for example the big daddy's were something to be feared and you had to make sure you was armed to the teeth to take one out in contrast found the patriots and handyman cannon fodder.

Did you wait until the end of the credits??

I actually got a large percentage of the audio recordings and explored as much as possible, which did add to the backstory and it does kind of hint at the ending(not fully though).

Anyway, here is some discussion about the ending(BIG SPOILERS):

Always do , loved the inclusion of the song to match with the guitar bit in the game, don't want to spoil the other bit for anyone.

    Re: Bioshock Infinite

I thought it was a credit that in some ways I was disappointed when the action start because I was so happy to wander around and listen to conversations, read signs, notice the beachboys playing at the fair etc. I found Bioshock a little oppressive ( I suppose that was the point) where as I find the dark elements of this more accessible because of its lighter, more open level design. Actually loving this game to be honest
