    2500k and 7950 twin frozr

I have just bought an MSI 7950 twin frozr to get into PC gaming, decided to move away from the Xbox due to a house move and the tv and PC now being in the same room!

Seeing as I don't know much about gaming on a PC I thought I would ask some questions..

Is my CPU good enough at stock speeds to game with the latest games? Would it be better to overclock it?

What would be the best to play on? A Panasonic 50" plasma or a 32" LCD tv? Both 1080p. Don't know how much the quality is affected by enlarging the picture!?

Do all games allow you to use an Xbox pad? I got a deal on the pad with adapter and would much prefer to use this method.

Any advice on the top games or classics to get?

I got sleeping dogs, bio shock infinite, shogun2, dirt showdown and far cry 3 free with the 7950 so got a good start!

    CPU is fine.

Not all games allow you to use an xbox control pad. As for the TV just remember they are TV's and even if they have a 1080 resolution they wont be as sharp as PC monitors.

Better when you overclock, but need to overclock? No

Depends how far away you sit, but also plasma TV's handle motion better than LCD, so you may find the overall experience smoother on a plasma.

Any game tagged with "games for windows" should automatically work with a 360 controller, including showing the correct button icons on screen.

Any advice on the top games or classics to get?

What type of games do you like?

Thanks for the replies guys. will keep CPU and gpu at stock and maybe OC if newer games start to stretch it..

What types of game did you tend to buy for the Xbox? You will get used to a mouse and keyboard very quickly and may even prefer it to a pad after some game time.

You can keep the CPU at stock but overclock it later down the line.
Dont use a TV in general, using a monitor will give you sharper images and will also mean your eyes will have to move less which will give you the advantage.
Not all games allow you to use gamepads but by using xpadder you can assign the controls. I would recommend sticking to mice for FPS games though

The quality is slightly less ones by being on a big screen but its a worthwhile trade off for the glory of playing sleeping dogs, farcry etc on the bigger screen! Simply stunning
