    Re: Wargame Airland Battle

I personally don't understand why people put their face on their twitch channels.

There is no need at all, I don't want to be looking at someones concentration face all the time and it also inevitably blocks some part of the screen from view.

twitch.tv/tgapples has the right idea with wargame streaming.

So yeah I would say lose the face too.

Helping to promote this game a bit more, as it's such a small company that make it. Here's another great battle from last night!

    Re: Wargame Airland Battle

Love the vids dude. I've watched most of them. I played a little EE but not online.
Decided to give Airland a shot online but its bl**dy hard.
I'm using a British deck based on your vid but I just get annihilated. Any tips for playing with the British?
Maybe its just a matter of getting some matches under my belt.

    Re: Wargame Airland Battle

I think I've watched all of your videos now (not just yours but waffle's and jason's as well)
From watching other people's vids I think you might need to use more ground based recon esp at the front lines to see opponent units before you charge.

Seen an interesting strategy with a soviet pre-1975 deck, you don't get the expensive top end units bu you do get lots and lots of cheap units.
Which leads to a MIG21s spam, each plane only costs around 45 and has one big cluster bomb, basically you send them in groups of 3 or 4, target big AA first, as most of them might have long range powerful missiles but they have a bad rate of fire, so the first plane gets shot down before it drops it's bomb but the 2nd and 3rd get in range drop payload, kill the AA and evac before the AA can get it's 2nd shot, then you pull the next wave in to go for clustered targets.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DM5fLjmoE1I his videos are very good in general btw

    PS loved the malmo challenge
Are you going to do any more wastelands i44 ? that looks great would love to see more of it.

I just bought this game yesterday, looks extremely involved and I'll be honest I don't know where the heck to start with it!

Are there any guides online for noobs to the game?

    Re: Wargame Airland Battle

Hey guys, great to see this getting some good feedback. These smaller games companies make some great titles that don't get the credit the deserve. So pleased you enjoyed the vids.

I'm just putting together two deck creation guides with the British and Russians. The Russian video is available below and the British one will be online in the next couple of days.

They way i learnt the game was to watch vids online. I do pretty basic stuff to be honest. I'm not major expert at this game, but we do well as a team.

As the British, i always put my ATGMs in the tree line and ensure they have direct clear access of any tanks that might come down the road. Then normally protect them but some Javelin troops, Rapiers and Falcons. Remember the Brits don't have great AA, so i sometimes rely on Jason, Waffle or Polski to give me some AA cover.

Get some games under your belt and you'll soon pick it up. We'll be doing a subscriber night soon and we'll live stream it for a bit of fun!

    Re: Wargame Airland Battle

I do love these deck videos, although I wish you'd spend a bit more time looking at the units and saying a bit more about why you chose one over the others.

Ok granted with the Russian vehicle range on an unrestricted deck your choice range is so great the video would end up being two hours long

    Re: Wargame Airland Battle

Just watched your latest, nice battle, you held the centre and locked them out well, could of probably pushed up a bit quicker into golf, esp at the start.

I also wonder if you could do with a bit more recon, esp ground based recon, scatter them about at the front to see what's coming.

    Cool thanks Pob!

Just uploaded another here, this time a 10v10.

A well planned out attack with a fairly low amount of causalities.

I am really struggling with the British Deck, they are so slow! Mostly use my French deck at the moment, although the tanks have low armour I love the speed and accuracy.

I do love the British lynx though
