It was funny to watch Peter Snow being decapitated by CGI Doniers
Funny also to watch his son being crushed by G-force (I dislike nepotism in TV presenting on principle, and thus hate Dan Snow)
Shame they had to get actors to say what veterens could have said so much better.
Totally agree, Bob Doe and Geoff Wellum are still around to name but 2Originally Posted by MA_Moby

To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.
Couldnt believe Kieth Park was mentioned once The Never Have so Many Owed so much speech from 20th August was missing...A poor program I thought its only saviour was the combat footage
Seems to be a new policy at the BBC to put personality over expertise. News presenters and amateurs presenting history programs. Former Gardening presenters presenting Geology programmes. Then try to dazzle us with CGI (and 'daredevil' Dan Snow mountainbiking through a bog, being run down by cavalry, sitting in an aeroplane) to try make us not notice the lack of informed content.Originally Posted by [MA]Dak[GSV]
Bring back Ray Holmes - he knew his onions. You need people who are genuinely bonkers and expert about their subject to make and present these programmes - not just a couple of BBC stooges who've read a few books and watched 'The Battle of Britain' on DVD.
Even the footage had a distinctly tacked on feel. It went without explanation of what it was or where it was from. And I'm certain there must be much better stuff lurking in the archives, if only the researchers could be arsed to look for it.
I feel a letter to Points of View coming on
'Make mine a Spitfire, Landlord!'
Precisely my sentiments Moby, well done chap
Not only the CGI and other tat, it's so drawn out, with the presentors and 'actors' unnecessarily reiterating the same facts and opinions over and over again.

Agree, I own a reasonable amount of combat footage and imho the reason that they didnt say what it was and when from was simple, the the gun camera stuff from RAF side was from cannon equiped fighters therefore not from the date of BoB, the only piece that was deffo from the BoB was the Bomber falling and the Hurri following the ram over LondonOriginally Posted by MA_Moby
