    Re: The witcher game

Hi Nipun - quite a few of us have the game, I really enjoyed it on my second playthrough. The first time through, it felt a bit strange, as I wasn't used to the format.

Are you interested in how it works technically in terms of computers, or whether it's fun to play?

    Re: The witcher game

If you have it on disc then you will have difficulty installing it. You need to get an unofficial fixed installer for the game to install it as an older version of TAGES was used on disc version and is incompatible with Windows 7, after that it works absolutely fine.

    Re: The witcher game

Yes, it's good to start from the beginning, though you could just play through the prologue as that introduces the most important things you need for the story. What details of how it works did you want to know?

    Re: The witcher game

witcher 3 is scheduled for next year, so another 12months at least before that's ready.

the story does follow on from 1 - 2 - 3 if you use the import save game option, so all the choices you make right from the start affect the next games. not every choice is an easy one to make and everything has consequences. theres a few quests where if you don't do them, they still affect the next game. iirc

theres 36 different endings in part 3.

the potion crafting and weapon swing timing are hard in part 1, it's to save button mashing and to encourage a bit more strategy into how you play.

they change the weapon, crafting and inventory in part 2 so you'll have to relearn it. not sure what its like in part 3.

Well, ish. The links between 1 and 2 are virtually non-existent. Just a few small changes and most of the bigger choices are unfortunately ignored and even over-ridden in some cases (hello Triss... what are you doing in my bed..!). Hopefully the links between 2 and 3 are a bit better, but mostly the choice-consequence mechanic works within a game rather than between them.

    Re: The witcher game

I bought the first on a steam sale but I just couldn't get in to it, to be fair though I didn't give much of a chance as I was about to sell my gfx card around that time. I love old school rpgs like bg2, planescape, iwd, etc...So will have to fire this up soon.
