    Familiarity

    ...no it DOESNT breed contempt.

I can drop into a Corsa or a Nova or a Cavalier, and just drive it.

Same now applies to certain planes in FB....how weird is THAT? makes me a bit sad.

A Yak 9 or Hurricane feels so....so....homely now.

An IL-2 .while taxiing round on a runway, feels like I could place it within an inch on another plane, no externals....

now THAT is something I NEVER thought would come to me......

Bet Tumble feels the same in a TB-3.....

I really do dislike the P39, and feel quite.....vulnerable in it, cos of the canopy frame/shape and the lack of side vision.

    But dropped into a Lagg 3 1941 I now feel.......*embarressed* under gunned .

This game is so weird. Never ever felt like this...not about Q2...not about UT...not even Black and White.

I flew a 190 this am for a few quick missions, and within 5 minutes was back into the power zoom climb and drop like a stone again. Can't hit anything when I do it, but I can do the actions

What plane do you feel most at home in.....straight off?

    nother thought.....

wonder if the Maddox team might introduce a new head movement?

the key-stroke/stick push would be called the "scrunch" and is the movement a normal real life pilot would do to look under a canopy's side bar....

its the curling of the back and sghortening of the neck to see under something next to your head.

I use Gunsight View when looking backwards to see better over my shoulder cos it moves my head forward in the cockpit....

so another button to "scrunch" would be ace

I'm starting to like the Zero tbh....
Liked the Hurri for a while but shes a bit on the slow side...
Spits are nice but dont take damage well...
The P40's not bad but doesnt pack a decent enuf punch..
Yak9's a nice plane, forgot about it until I jumped in 1 lastnite..
P39's a tool once u get used to it, didnt like it to start off with but once u get used to its feel in the air they are nice, a bit twitchy on the edge tho...

I didn't realise it was Vauxhalls you sold, mate. My deepest sympathies I've driven a Corsa and a Movano in the past - both the worst driving experiences I've ever been through

It used to be the LaGG-3, but the early series feels underpowered and underarmed these days (I've been spoilt by all these late war planes). That said i notched up 2 VEF kills in the LaGG3T the other day - against AI 190s. I find the LA-5 quite homely - well balanced and lots of power.

P-40 and Hurri feel comfy, in that I know what they'll do. Likewise I can feel quite at home in an I-16, despite all it's shortcomings.

The spitfire - of course. IL-2's - sometimes.

I've never really got to grips with any of the Yaks - 'cept the Yak 3 in my nOOb days on the UBIsoft servers in the original IL2.

Oh, and I hate - yes HATE - MiGs. They suck in the biggest possible way - completely outperformed at lower level by the OKL Planes. Only good at high alt. I remember all those death sentance MiG missions in VEF when we'd have to escort IL2's at about 1000ft - always bounced and butchered. And they always catch fire. Sorry MiG lovers - but I HATE these things (almost as much as the Corsa).

i know what your saying zak. when i first started playing il2 and first jumped into the Mig's they just felt right, things were much 'better' for lack of another word in them it was as if how i flew them was how they were ment to be flown. Saying that there death at low level isnt quite true as thats about the only place i fly *looks at kill/death ratio and puts a line through the last sentence*

TB-3.. you kinda guessed that tho eh? and the only fighter I feel totally comfortable in is the Gladiator... I can just 'feel' it in the air.. and know exactly what it's doing... I managed to pace Zak UP 1500m metres last night before me stick screwed up - him in LaGG3 and me in Glad... got a few shots at him too

yeah, you git....you and that Glad were doing my head in....cant out run it properly unless I dive, can't outclimb it in a turn, can't out turn it ....obviously!!!!

Couldnt get it in my sights properly ....

doin my head in....was kinda glad your stick died! as I was about to fall fool of the oldest trick in the book....getting sucked in, when I should just carry on running and climbing until I have the upper hand again.

I153's feel perfect for me but not daily....wouldnt wanna fly one forever.

    bit chilly

Pretty much any La (LaGG included), Spitfire's, P39 and P40 and any Yak (Except 7's - euck!!) I'm happy in.

Saying that, I can fly the Stang, P47 and P51, but its always a conscious restriction to B'n'Z and if its conscious, it aint at home is it?

I can fly the Russian mudmovers too, but I'm always too worried about dying to relax in them properly, again, aint at home is it?

I would say definate TiG and Tumble. Kami is another classic example of a Mudmover in his natural enviroment. Big Carhoonies is whats needed to do that

I like a 190 of any sort, a hurri for bomber bothering and an IL2 for groundpounding. However I ain't at home in anthing yet! Especially as I just got a new joystick! Hooray for cyborg evo.

Oh yeah il2 no doubt, i don't feel at home in any fighter at all, i like the spitfire and i certainly don't die as often as i once used to....

But without a doubt, of all the planes il2 is my home.... Against ace's i'm dead every time, those mk108 cannons kill my plane one shot, but the amount of times i've managed to avoid dying with human enemies on my tail in an il2 is immense...

A well drilled il2 squadron is something that is extremely hard to kill....

I'm a ground pounder all the way, i'm sooooo hoping that PF focuses on taking out carriers and destroyers SBD or Achival coming up please
