is it me or does that feel a bit like cheating?

EDIT: ok not so much as only half of them or less come from in game, the majority came from advertising or shop "exclusive"
Time to do a lot of cut & paste

Worth doing to 45 at least as that will give you the bonus weapon skills (except pump shotgun) and more importantly 6 extra inventory slots(or might just be 4 as they might not stack)

I'm not sure, its available to everyone and coming late to the scene you have missed the change to get most of them.

It only gives you some extra Inventory spaces, a different looking vehicle, +1 to a couple weapons and 2 basic weapons which you will replace pretty quickly. Oh and 2 titles.

Yep it was, but it caps out at 120, the bonuses are based on the total number of codes, the individual codes do nothing, ie +1 pistol skill is at 15 code doesn't matter which 15 you enter.
It was pretty much done as an advertising easter egg hunt.

NOTE: Only 120 codes are needed to unlock all the rewards. But they said there are 150 codes out there, so keep entering them all just in case they decide to do something with that like add another reward.

I don't know if it worth the time to do all 120 (ok I took the time to do it) but doing 45 is for those extra inventory slots, in my eyes anyway.

Well after 25hours I'm starting to get a bit bored and frustrated by defiance.

There's no where near as many guns as you first might think, about 10 of each are they are all variants, so it might fire a bit faster but do less damage that sort of thing.
Upgrades come in the form of the mods and white/green/blue/purple type, but the benefits of the coloured variants is small eg I picked up a blue rocket launcher who's grand buff was "toxic effect on melee"
So Loot has become very grindy in the very randomness of it and vague chance you'll get something you can use.
Ego powers/bonuses which replace the main leveling mechanic are likewise nondescript.
My big frustration is that the mobs are getting tougher and bullet spongy ones more common but the amount of damage you do isn't going up by much and the damage you can take isn't going up at all, infact the mobs seem to be getting more accurate so survivability is actually going down.
I've pretty much stopped bothering with infectors as they are now too weak to do much to mobs, they still have some place as a support weapon but not much, mutants where very distracted by them, esp the bugs, but the raiders mainly just ignore them.
The BMG's are good for chain killing the baby hell bugs and healing, but not much else.
I've picked up a VIB pump shotgun, which is my favourite shotgun so far,, it fire twice for each click and the recoil is quite strong so you need to aim for the waist to get two solid hits, the spread is tight enough that most of the pellets hit at close range, so one double tap will generally take out a raider. against big guys where you need to focus a stream of rounds into a weak point, a few times, it's not much cop though.

It's all wearing a bit thin.

I can't play at the minute, my ping is really high and internet speed is between 512k and 2 Mb on Infinity, we are getting an engineer out on Friday at least so its back to RSI and Torchlight 2!!

Mind you, a few nights ago was doing a mission and a Hellbug Matriarch was outside the canyon, took it out solo and as soon as I started walking towards the entrance another one spawned a few seconds later, think it may have something to do with ping etc though. Needless to say I got my rear handed to me on a plate and was also getting attacked by Hellbug archers and warriors.

I haven't been able to play the game since the round of MS Windows Updates on the 14th. It's a 'known issue' & Trion are apparently working on a fix, but at the moment the games is dead. I could of course uninstall the updates, but given they're mostly security related, I'm more inclined to just wait for Trion & MS to get their fingers out. Are there many other people in a similar situation?

I need to fire this back up thinking on it, I moved house since that last post but been busy, also gaming on my trusty C64 on the third floor. May drop in tonight and see whats happening and if I get a re-occurrence of the Hellbug thing I mentioned above.
