Removed the blur effect on soldiers that appeared when Commanders were using EMP attacks
-Fixed the audio bug where audio sometimes randomly dropped out while playing on certain multiplayer maps (typically Golmud Railway and Hainan Resort)
-Fixed the "one-hit kill bug" where occasionally damage from a single bullet was applied multiple times
-Fixed a common crash that would occur when exiting from the Single Player Campaign to Main Menu
-Tweaked the network and computer performance screen to show proper values. Players can now test their computer and network connection and get recommendations if they need to adjust something to improve their gameplay experience

So glad to see the back of that EMP nonsense.
Is that really all they fixed since the release day patch?

And yes it is annoying that the prevalence of SSDs means that developers think they can get away with poorly optimised, horrible map loading times. It's so crap that you spend more time looking at the static screen between maps than you do playing the game.

No mention of a fix for the crash with looping sound?

Most BF4 patching is done server side, even a lot of stuff that was traditionally done with a client patch, hence 2 client patches, 12 server patches.

As for the expansion only played a few rounds but the maps have a nice variety and seemed to play out quite well and a couple are properly pretty, guillin(sp?) especially. The guns are a good selection and all worth using. MP7 and MTAR are beastly up close, solid challengers for the P90 and ACW respectively. L96 is another sniper rifle, not much to say. L85 looks interesting, might lure some away from the ACE for close in, going to depend on the recoil, pain to unlock though.

Gadgets are pretty meh, UCAV looks like yet another entertaining way to troll roof campers. Being basically just a diet TV missile for support, but tbh I can't see it ever edging out my C4. The other one, SUAV I think is just a fast MAV.

Bombers seem pretty underwhelming so far, was expecting something with a bit more shock and awe.

I generally play support, so good to know the UCAV is kind of fun - XM25 airburst is literally the funnest thing ever. especially on things like dawnbreaker - Its not a good round if you haven't been accused of hacks at least twice. The RPK 74 looks pretty lame.

Bit disappointing there are no new engi gadgets though. Have they nerfed DMRs yet? I swear every third time I'm killed its by some camper of a support with a DMR sat up a pylon or something. Suppose I just need to wait for second assualt when they all change to DAO12 with slugs.

    Re: Battlefield 4 discussion..

UCAV isnt perfect. If you place it on uneven terrain it will fire as it is placed, ie sideways.

It also takes AGES to reload from an ammo box. And its controls are horrid - turning is automatic (like an arcade plane game where holding right rolls the plane and turns it when your perspective stays flat), seemingly no option to change controls to match jets with more control.

Also seems to have issues detonating on impact, missile will 'slide' along the floor a meter or two, enough to give you a miss on infantry.

All jet fighting in AS and other game modes is ruined as US F-35s are always on a team, meaning that team cant win dogfights. AS is actually ruined because of it.

DICE are digging a very big hole. They need to stop messing around and fix the game.

So before the patch today I did have some crashes, but was able to get back to desktop and re-join the server. But this new patch means I can't even join a server!!!! It crashes on the black screen just before the bit where you see the map picture :-| I'm not going to bother re-installing and all that rubbish, as it was working ok expect for a few niggles. Now EA have completely broken it for me!!! Anyone else having issue after this latest patch?

FFS Dice stop being lame and ruining what should be an epic game. They should have got it right and released it at Easter.

At what point do we, the good customers of this franchise, rise up and send a joint letter/petition to DICE/EA expressing our discontent, and demanding they sort this out? How defective does a game need to be for it to be reported to trading standards as unfit for purpose?
Unbearable though it sounds I really think we should all stop playing the thing until such time as they fix it properly. Empty servers would begin to send a message.

I don't know. It's easy for us to be mad as the end users of such a large scale product that we don't really understand. I'm sure they are trying to fix the game and want it to work properly. Some problems just might not be apparent until you have millions of people playing all at once. I don't know. Maybe they didn't test it thoroughly enough within realistic testing limitations. I think the best thing for us all to do from now on is stop preordering games from devs who relase badly broken ones. Just wait for a few months until the game is cheaper and has been repaired into a more acceptable working state. That is really the best thing we can do.

Where it doesn't give the experience reasonably expected from the advertising/box and you can prove it's something with the game rather than anything specific to your hardware/software combination. In short, if other people are enjoying the game then you probably can't.

Heh I seem to be the only person that is sitting and going "meh its an online PC game... it was always going to be ****ed"

To be honest its been buggy and crashing a whole load and of course I would like it to be 100% perfect but I'm still having fun. If you are that upset about it you could of 1) not got the game on release day 2) now that you own it just sit it out and wait for patches... paying full price now or full price if it was delayed doesn't change anything and if you are getting that angry about it its prob you focus on something else for a while

EVERY large online game since I can remember has had issues and this IS an online game (no-one here is moaning about SP problems)... WoW on every expansion (and the whole of vanilla if you think bacK), Diablo 3, SimCity are the high profile ones I can think of.

I've pulled the trigger on china rising, and the new maps seem buggier than the old, although there is some potential in them. Air superiority I played one round of to get my ribbon for tha ucav and thats it. Its awful.

    Re: Battlefield 4 discussion..

"Ohh a new patch, maybe it will work now!" How naive of me. Can't even connect to a game "Error - Game disconnected: could not join server." Urgh I give up, as someone else said I'm off to play AC4 and Batman, perhaps I'll try again in a couple of months.

    Re: Battlefield 4 discussion..

Anyone who is getting connection errors or being kicked from servers its due to punkbuster. I had the same issue in BF3 every so often.

Open up your BF4 dir, run the PB client and reinstall. Should solve those problems (did for me).
