Unless I misunderstood them, it looks like it's going to need a fair bit more juice to run. But I'm sure it'll get some better optimization in time. The Beta is not all that far off now. Looking forward to testing it out

Re: Battlefield 4 discussion and Hardware requirements speculation

Official system requirements posted on Twitter: https://twitter.com/Battlefield/stat...387841/photo/1

I don't think anyone expected the requirements to be that low. Minimum specs are only marginally more then BF3 apart from the doubling of memory and extra hard disk usage.

Interesting Windows 8 is 64-bit is the recommended OS. Wonder what that means.. if anything?

Not a lot other than it's the newest OS and most likely to remain supported for longer.

I've always hated the recomended setup system on pc games. I wish at that spec it would tell you whgat kind of frames you could get on what settings on at 1080p etc

That wouldn't be useful information as you wouldn't likely replicate their test setup - just look at the variance between FPS from different sites reviews testing the same component even. Plus anything you put on the box would be outdated as all it takes is a driver update to change the FPS sometimes.

I'm with you. Recommended requirements have always been my personal minimum requirements since about 2009 when I learned that it's pretty much what they really are if you don't want a slide show! No one who just meets the recommended is gonna be playing bf4 on ultra with msaa @60fps/1080p in full size mp battles! NO ONE. You definitely want more gpu power if bf3 is anything to go by!

But that's not what the recommended specs are designed for. You'll still have a great experience (according to the devs) if you run at lower settings, hence recommended. Minimum is just 'getting it to run at all' more or less.

£54.99 for a BF4 and premium at the moment.

I've never heard of the site before but there seems to be a few people vouching for them. Anyone had any experience with them?

Im hoping my I5 2500k and 6850 gives me some half decent frame rates. I'd like to hold of upgrading the PC for a little bit at least.

buy at your own risk i'd say, it's a very good deal considering what the next cheapest alternative is but why are they so cheap? there has to be something dodgy about them to be undercutting the competition so much, i've pre ordered with a site i know and trust

it would suck for everyone who had ordered with that site and for EA come along and disable your origin account with who knows how many games in there. but i'm only speculating

    http://www.trustpilot.co.uk/review/simplycdkeys.com

I say go for it! I buy from random key stores all the time. I always check reviews on Trustpilot first. I've had no major issues so far. This is also a great place to look for games as it compares a lot of sites, has discount codes for them, and has user reviews! http://www.dlcompare.com/

Edit: Just noticed that simply cd keys looks alarmingly similar to simply games: http://www.simplygames.com/
I've used simply games LOADS and they're great. Probably the same people running it I think!

Also you don't get your account banned or any crap like some people say, just because you buy your key somewhere else. What most of these stores are doing is just scanning the code off a retail box. It's fine! The only ones I'm cautious about are ones that need Russian vpn's to activate. I don't go for them. But I know people who do and haven't had any problems yet. Your choice though eh!

Looking forward to the BF4 beta tomorrow! Let's talk about how our rigs hold up after playing

So if they're scanning them from retail boxes surely that would be illegal? And once the person who buys it contacts EA they're gonna restrict or block the key?

I paid 22quid for base game and 26quid for premium (pre-ordering early from key stores) - that's £48 total

Neither of the stores I ordered from (Gaming Dragons and cjs) have let me down in the past...so £55 this close to release for both seems reasonable and not overly cheap at all.....I've used many key stores (albeit not simiplycdkeys) and never had a problem with any of them, I haven't bought games any other way for a couple of years now.

Seems to be the consensus at the moment. Will place the order and see what happens. Hopefully it all works and comes with the China uprising stuff straight from the beginning.

They might be breaching their distribution terms and conditions by doing so (especially reselling in different regions), but I doubt there's anything illegal on your side.

And once the person who buys it contacts EA they're gonna restrict or block the key?
EA have no way of knowing, unless the keys are region specific. If it was a big concern there are steps they could take with their distributors to limit the problem, but as long as the numbers are relatively small it's probably no hassle to them either. In the longer term, if enough people do it, it'll cause game prices to rise as they won't be able to price based on local market values, so will have to use a global market value and make up for loss of revenue in markets that can no longer afford it.
