I had some issues getting connected today but once connected I had no problems and the game played well, but I only had time for one round on metro so who knows, maybe if I play for longer I'll see some random crashing too.

    Re: Battlefield 4 discussion..

I had no issues through 2 rounds of metro, but had found loop crashes on lancang, Oman and the one with a wall down the middle.

    Re: Battlefield 4 discussion..

I've played quite a bit today (all games on the new maps). The only problems I've had are ones that I've had since the game came out. Those being things like: sound bugs, free look not working, delayed lag hit issues, dying randomly for no apparent reason, invisible walls that block my shots, shots not registering when they should (I'm talking about really clear ones like having my scope in the middle of their chest from 20ft away and getting no hits), and maybe a couple of others. But to be fair, the last 2 nights I think that the majority of the rounds I've played have not had many issues. Only experienced a couple of crashes as well. So for the first time I was able to actually play the game and enjoy it It's a great game! Just a shame we still have these bugs going on this often after this amount of time. Maybe it'll be all ironed out by the time we get the next dlc haha..

Battlefield 4 is an AMAZING game with very high requirements - however after seeing the graphics you won't complain, I run the game on ultra fine and my PC wasn't too expensive, I think you could run the game on high depending on the resolution possibly ultra

Cool, what are the specs of your PC? It might help someone that's either thinking about getting this game or building a reasonably priced gaming PC and has this game in mind as one of the titles they want to play.

    Re: Battlefield 4 discussion..

so what do you guys think of the new patch and amd beta driver that just came out today?

i played two different maps. operation metro was juddering/locking up every couple of seconds. so it seemed like nothing had changed with mantle.

but then i played siege of shanghai and kinda got better results. cpu usage seemed a little lower. maybe 10% (will obviously have to play many more games to figure it out properly). and gpu usage was also definitely lower. it only got to 93% compared to the 99-100% that basically every map usually gives me. but the one thing i noticed that was way different was the amount of vram used. it used about 2.8gb on siege of shanghai! normally it wouldn't push much past 2gb i'm pretty sure.. as i say - much more testing will need to be done by playing lots of different maps and seeing the performance gains/losses. but just thought i'd give my experience so far and am interested to see what everyone else thinks of it.

anyone had any noticeable performance gains or losses?

    Re: Battlefield 4 discussion..

Are there any release notes on the update/patch? It would be interesting to see if they have done anything about the out of memory, DirectX and battlefield 4 has stopped working error messages I've been getting since last Friday.

Nice, thanks, I had already unlocked all of the nades but got the shotties now.

The release notes for the patch are here, I couldn't get them from my phone while I was out and no mention of any fixes for the bugs I've been experiencing, apart from fixing the one where it wasn't possible for the gunner in a vehicle to shoot.

I didn't see any of the release notes anywhere :/ But all I know is that it's improved mantle quite a lot. But if anyone has a link to the patch notes then please post!

I have posted the link in the post above yours, I tried it today, it crashed on the first attempt but then seemed to play fine straight after, ofcourse I won't have noticed any improvements with Mantle as I am rocking a nVidia GPU, however I didn't notice it running any worse either. Though I'm pleased to say I did manage to get a few rounds without any glitches, other than being pants, but I can't blame DICE for that.

    Re: Battlefield 4 discussion..

Ever since launch I've had problems with BF4. Granted my system is not very powerful so I expected it not to run too great... Not to the extent that it doesn't even let me join matches now though. The last few times I tried to play it would be in the loading screen and I would eventually get kicked out, with an error message telling me I was kicked. I've uninstalled BF4 for now, hopefully will be able to play it on a new system I plan to build by the end of the year.

I didn't even manage to get the free shortcuts, but that doesn't bother me too much.

How's your net connection? Bad/erratic ping = auto kick on a number of servers. I used to have this issue on BT's "gaming" premium package back in 2008 where I swear they were throttling the bandwidth particularly for gaming traffic. Man was I glad to leave BT.
