I think that's the worst part of it really, beneath the skin of bugs there's a fantastic and addicting core gameplay that keeps you coming back for more.

Plus y'know, with every patch DICE seem to break the game more, the most recent update just completely removed the death screen in hardcore for some reason.

The general moving around bugs do seem to have got worse since the patch, although to be fair to dice, a lot of it does seem to be when you're navigating round blown up bits. which are probably more detailed than they are in any other game of this type. Its just a bit annoying when you have to spend 30s hopping along a half destroyed wall to find the vaultable bit.

I'm also a bit sad that my new favourite combo of rpg + aa mines has been nerfed. with the deployed explosives perk you could effectively deny whole sections of some maps to the helis whilst maintaining effectiveness against vehicles. Hopefully they'll change it back so you can only carry them with the antiground rockets. otherwise I'll have to go back to the old soflam + sraw combo, but that needs a buddy, tis fun though.

Especially if you're under fire looking to get to cover and your guy is just jumping at a wall (or cardboard box sometimes, because those are obviously enough to stop a trained soldier). But yeah, in DICE's defence BF4 is running on a lot of untested technology, they probably should have just done more testing before released but EA wanted to beat Ghosts to the stores.

All the constant balance tweaks are annoying, I mean some of them are needed (it was impossible to fly a jet with a mobile AA having 6 missiles) but some of them just throw off the games balance just as you're getting used to it.

Yeh I always play HC, and I've noticed this. Lot's of unexplained random deaths on some servers. I really hate not knowing how the hell I got taken out. Weird instant kills that don't make sense as well.. But I still think that over all, the game has got progressively better for me since launch. Some things have gotten worse. Most noticeably, the old lag/netcode issue that bf3 was always so plagued by. I found this to be almost non existent in early bf4 and the beta. God only knows how they managed to code it back in!!

I haven't paid enough attention to really notice many "balance tweaks". But I always felt they ended up ruining bf3 with this. Sure it's annoying when something is massively over powered and gets spammed a lot. But I don't agree with making everything on equal terms either. Some things should have clear advantages in some areas, with clear disadvantages in others. I know that keeping that idea is possible with balancing. But I'm not sure they get it right often enough. I play as sniper on the odd occasion. I have nothing against it. But I'm getting pretty tired of constantly being spammed by DMR's whenever I move across an open area of a map. That noise is so irritating! And the suppression blur effect you get from them is way too much. You stand pretty much 0 chance once one of them starts firing at you. You're dead before you even know which direction it came from. But it doesn't seem they want to address that. Yet they're happy to make attack choppers as vulnerable and manoeuvrable as a toddler in a swimming pool!

The new maps release on the 25th for premium members. But does anyone know at what time? I was wondering whether to stay up past midnight to play them or not

edit: ah, just found out it says in origin. looks like 10am.

TBF if it had gone out with a game breaking bug in that would be worse. I suspect they've delayed it indefinitely to avoid the critiscism when they inevitably couldn't get it working by the time they said.

    Re: Battlefield 4 discussion..

i wonder if they only just noticed this bug a few hours before release. probably not.. pretty disappointing really. i'm not mad that they want to fix it before release. but i just wish that was something they had done all along, including the base game. i can't help but think they knew about this before and just delayed the announcement of it. maybe they thought they could fix it in time. but once again, it seems like consoles are getting priority here. i miss when battlefield used to be a pc focused game

yeh the second expansion was just old maps anyway. i mean, it was kinda cool to have them. but they got old kinda quick for me as someone who's been playing bf since the beginning. these new ones actually look really cool from what i've seen though. i'm prepared to wait for them. they just better fix them good! i'm sure you'll be hearing how they go from us lot once they're out though

This, I've actually been playing vanilla since sa came out as I hate most of the old maps (firestorm is ok) and most servers have both on the rotation.

Titan mode looks amazing (i never played 2142) and that cannon is awesome.

I wanted to see Grand Bazaar as well. There are also some of the BFBC2 maps that I'd like to see, two in particular but I can't remember their names.
