No, rubber banding seems to have got worse since naval strike launched, and I'm getting massive ping spikes on some servers, but generally still playable. Don't see what all the fuss with carrier assault was though. Its basically a decent game of conquest with 5 minutes of locker/metro crap at the end.

haha that's a fuuny way to describe it it's basically a game of conquest with cqc rush at the end, yeh. my two big problems with it are that you can spawn on the enemy ship once it's open, and that you don't have to escape the ship with no respawns like the old titan mode in 2142. also, why do you only need to damage a ship half way to get into it? what's the point in the other half?? people don't often defend enough either. everyone wants to be that hero that blew up the enemy ship.. i still really enjoy the game mode and the new maps though rush and conquest are my favourite game modes. so i find this pretty nice! it's always a bit of an anti climactic ending though when you don't have to escape :/

Hey guys. I can't get Bf4 to load up after the most recent patch. I get the loading screen, but my fps gradually goes down to 0, and it appears to just get stuck there. Is anyone else getting this with the latest patch? Any ideas on a fix? Cheers!

I had this too, I fixed it by finding the bf4.exe and bf4_x86.exe files then setting them to run as admin in the file properties, now the game runs as it always did, where it crashes due to out of memory issues before I can even finish loading a map.

*** Ok, got it working in the end, just needed to restart my PC two or three times. ***

I gave it a shot. But no luck :/ I managed to find a post on the BL forums earlier. Seems that there are some others having the same kind of issues since this patch. I guess maybe they'll fix it on Tuesday when the new Dlc is out!

Im guessing if its on the forum then using the 'repair install' tool doesn't work?

If that tool doesn't detect any problems perhaps rename the existing .exe files to something else and run repair again?

I may try that. But I'll wait for the dlc tomorrow and try then. They might fix whatever it is with another patch

    Re: Battlefield 4 discussion..

Well I think I figured out the cause. I think it could be a combination of running the latest Beta drivers for my gpu, with the Riva tuner stats server. If I block the Riva tuner stats server with Msi AB, then BF seems to load up properly and actually work Mantle seems to have improved a bit now too. It was running pretty good for the most part. Though I did experience some of those crazy lockups that it sometimes causes! But they are way less frequent now. Then again, I might feel different after a couple more hours play!

BF4 i find is just BF3 with a bit of updated graphics, not sure if it's worth all that dosh for those map packs, but I bought them anyways, good placeholder before Star citizen comes out.

Yeh I thought of it as BF3.5 for a long time. It still is really. But those latest maps.. There are a couple of good ones in there. They just had this look, feel and flow that reminded me of BF2/2142. But that "Sunken Dragon" or whatever it was called, wasn't very good imo. I also kept having a weird thing with these new maps where lots of parts looked so familiar! It's like they took bits from existing maps, and slapped them together to make new ones. For example, there was one section where I felt just like I was on the rooftops of that map that gets flooded ("floodzone"?), then in another place I felt like I was in the multi story car park from the Hardline beta!

But whatever. The issues with BF4 half killed my enthusiasm for it, months back. It's still fun for a couple rounds every now and then. But I found myself going back to Arma, and have also started playing Insurgency a bit Waiting patiently for my Star Citizen DFM invite!

Yep, just been playing it! I quite like the 'Whiteout' map, but the server I was on started to lag terribly about half way through. I just hope it was a problem with that server, & not the DLC as a whole
