I forced myself to use the PDWs with irons to break my ADS every single time habit. MP7 or AS-Val are both good for that.
I haven't really looked at playing the more ranged combat, in fact I don't think I have even managed a single sniper rifle kill in BF4, all I am doing is playing the class in order to rack up some points and get some of the assignments completed, but this is the class where I have not had the confidence to play it, so I think I should play with it a bit. I'll swap over to the RDS, but I'll stick with the AK 5C until I've got that final unlock and then move on to a bolt action sniper rifle, I thini I can use a CS-LR4 at the moment.

I really like playing with the DMRs, as I don't really have the reaction speed to take people out at close range. The SVD is probably the most user-friendly of the DMRs, with a fairly fast fire-rate and low recoil, so follow-up shots are quick. Most DMRs seem to kill with 3 or 4 shots.

I've just had a look at that, SVD has a 2 shot burst mode, saves double tapping. lol.

I had never considered that playing at range would give more reaction times, I have been watching videos on recon though and know that I have to learn to make friends with my sidearm which is something that doesn't get much attention at the moment so I might try a few pistol only games to see if I can address that.

edit *** I have had 7 kills with sidearms, 6 were with the Shorty. lol

I tend to use a DMR as the engineer, fitted with FLIR and target detector. Sidearm wise I go for the automatic 93R which seems quiet effective.

RFB/angled/detector & acog here. the only sidearm worth bothering with is the deagle.

Go on a pistol only server, you will quickly get better at using the Pistol, it does take practice.

One of the load outs I have been using recently is the scout elite with medium scope and shorty side arm... I like to challenge myself!

I actually think that there is a few pistols that are worthwhile other than the deagle. The Deagle is a beast and definitely the best but it has a fair kick to it. The CZ75 is pretty damn effective. If you are using a shotgun on a small map then the M93 or G18 can be quite effective as you will find yourself running out of shells when you are right next to the enemy.
The 44 magnum with the scope is pretty good fun aswell, takes a lot of practice, but its worth it.

GFX Card I'm using, nVidia GeForce 8500 GT-1. Should this be sufficient? Anyone know?

I'm quite handy with the Sniper rifle on the PS4, can easily pick folk out at long range, accuracy can be horrendous on some sessions lol.

But I've been getting mauled recently due to taking on folk solo. I.e. some folk work in packs whereas I don't as I can't get any of my mates into it lol.

    Re: Battlefield 4 discussion..

The devs have given these as the minimum requirements:

OS: WINDOWS VISTA SP2 32-BIT (WITH KB971512 PLATFORM UPDATE)
PROCESSOR: AMD ATHLON X2 2.8 GHZ / INTEL CORE 2 DUO 2.4 GHZ
    MEMORY: 4 GB
GRAPHICS CARD: AMD RADEON HD 3870 / NVIDIA GEFORCE 8800 GT GRAPHICS x
    MEMORY: 512 MB
    HARD DRIVE: 30 GB
And these as the Recommended requirements:

    OS: WINDOWS 8 64-BIT
PROCESSOR: AMD SIX-CORE CPU / INTEL QUAD-CORE CPU
    MEMORY: 8 GB
GRAPHICS CARD: AMD RADEON HD 7870 / NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 660
    GRAPHICS MEMORY: 3 GB
    HARD DRIVE: 30 GB
I usually ignore Minimum specs and treat Recommended as Minimum, but that's me being a bit too picky, maybe. For Disturbeguy, your GTX260 GPU is above the minimum requirement, you should be able to play it at low to medium settings and 1080p with an acceptable frame rate. As for the 8500GT in Macman's PC I think that falls just below the stated minimum for this game and would most likely need to be upgraded first, what are the rest of the specs in your PC?

How long ago was it? How much was it?

I'm sure that card launched about 7 or 8 years ago.

I loved BF3 on xbox, but during the free origin period not so long ago I really couldn't get on with BF4 on PC. Not sure if it's because of the mouse and keyboard or because I didn't like the game. I really didn't like the way they do connecting to games - feels really backwards.

I nearly forgot about that, Origin will let you play a game for free before you buy it, they call it Game Time and Battlefield 4 is on the list of games available so you could try it first.

The 8500 GT launched in April 2007 according to Wikipedia.

    Re: Battlefield 4 discussion..

Had to uninstall BF4 the other day and since I re installed it I've been crashing out not long after deployment.

Anyone know any solutions to this problem, it was working fine till I had to uninstall.

Have you tried the repair game thing? Maybe there's a missing file etc
