Is that your setup/s?
Just to give you an idea of how Bf4 ran for me when I had a gaming Pc..
So i had:
* CPU: Intel 2500K running at 4.4Ghz
* RAM: 8GB, 1600Mhz DDR3
* GPU: Amd 7970 3GB (overclocked) running core clock at 1Ghz
On a single 1080p screen, I could run everything on high (with 2-3 things on ultra), with 2xMSAA and 90-FOV. That would give what I would consider to be a solid 55-60 frames per second (using Vsync on a 60hz screen). In some rare situations I would get drops to about 45fps. But that was very rare..
I would say that 6GB of RAM should've given me around the same performance (just a guess. never tried it). But 8GB was definitely enough. The 3GB of VRAM in the graphics card was absolutely necessary. But, if I just stuck to High settings only, 2GB might've cut it. Cpu was hit pretty damn hard at times too. But of course - this is just me who wants to run my games at 60fps with Vsync You might be happier with fewer frames per second. And of course, lowering graphical settings will reduce a lot of strain.
If there's any way you could be a bit more specific about which hardware you have, or are looking to get, it would be a bit easier to advise Do you know which model of Cpu you have - is it an i5, i7? Does it have a model number? Is your RAM DDR2 or DDR3..? And if you have an Amd 7770 Graphics card, I would probably not expect to be pushing past medium settings if you want to keep a playable frame rate. But yeh, give us a little more info if you can

How much are you thinking about spending?
Depending on budget the most likely options for upgrading start with just your GPU then GPU + RAM and finally a new CPU + Mobo, RAM, GPU and PSU etc... Before we start going wild with fantastic solutions tell us what you're prepared to spend so we can keep our feet on the ground while we search for your answers.
Ok, so it's an HP Pavillion, Asus mobo with G33 chipset, Intel Core 2 Q6600, AMD 7770 and 6GB RAM (2x2 + 2x1).
Without knowing how much you can afford I would say the cheapest upgrades would be to take out the 7770 and find another, newer, GPU that uses around the same power draw as the 7770 and then take out the 2x1GB RAM and see if you can replace it with matching 2x2GB Corsair VS2GB667D2 RAM. Being a ready built rig my guess is that it would only have been supplied with a PSU that supports slightly more than has been installed in the PC to begin with.
IIRC the recommended PSU for a system with a 7770 is around 500 watts so you should be quite comfortable with a GTX970 and the new GTX960 expected around the end of January.
I would estimate the RAM to come in at around £40 and the GPU starts at around £250 for the GTX970 not really sure what the GTX960 will come in at but if you choose that route then I would hope to get both the GPU and RAM for less than the price of the GTX970 alone.

For the most budget upgrade, I would upgrade just the Gpu. Not worth going too far with that, as the rest of the system will bottleneck it, in my opinion.. Something like a 7850/70 would be about as far as I would push. If you want to go any further, you're gonna need a whole new build I'm afraid. But as mentioned - make sure you don't push the Psu too hard with any upgrades. Even a slight Gpu upgrade might do this to you..
I'm not sure of your budget.. But if you haven't built a computer before, I know how daunting the task seems. Though it is actually a lot easier than you think. It's is insanely more cost efficient than buying a ready made computer as well

Should this be sufficient...? Linky
For that price on Amazon, you can actually get the R270X: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-Dua...productDetails
Same amount of Vram, yet it will give you a bit more bang for buck. And it also has updated GCN, so it should give slightly better Mantle support. It may however, require more power to run it. I'm not sure of the power requirements of these cards. Could you take photos of all the writing on your Psu and post them here? That way we could get a better idea of what it can handle
