It'd be good if you all got put into a pool of gamers, and it then selected the teams from there, so then you could go in as groups, if you get what I mean.

I really miss some of the maps from Bf3. But that happens everytime a new one comes out and doesn't have my old favourites.. But now it's recieved a load of patches and actually works properly the majority of the time - Bf4 is my favourite. My main issue with Bf4 is how weak and slow the attack choppers are. They used 'Close Quarters' in Bf3 to win some COD kids over. Now ever since then, they've constantly complained that the vehicles are OP. So now we have BF games with super weak vehicles. They need to give us back the 'OP' vehicles, because the point of a vehicle is to be a lot more powerful and tougher than an infrantry unit.. There are plenty of infrantry only servers for the COD kids..
Sorry. Slight rant there lol.. But it's always bugged me! BF2/BF2142 on Pc were the best in there time![]()
Is that the one where you start with a knife or pistol, then every kill you get without dying, you get a better gun, or something..? I had a bit of fun with that mode on Bf3. But, I've always been more of a classic game mode sort of guy. Large conquest, and rush is where it's at for me![]()
I agree that the attack chopper needs a buff (the good news here is that apparently its getting improved mobility in the next patch), however they have made it incredibly difficult to take on vehicles as infantry on big maps.
The rationalisation is that you have to work as a team to be effective. This is great in theory, however in practice, when other forum members and I have tried, it has been a bit of a laugh for all the wrong reasons. You get the occasional mobility hit, but rarely actually take the damn thing out. Golmund railway is the obvious example... that map highlights how much of a joke it is to try and work as an 'AT squad'.
What does all this result in? Everyone taking the non-lock on weapons (or the SRAW) or the C4 because they are more flexible and effective all round... or people just play on maps that have less/no vehicles, which goes against the point of BF.
The lock on capable weapons like the Javelin, SRAW and anti air weapons, and the tools to aid in locking on like the SOFLAM need to be way more effective than they currently are. Damage and range need to be buffed, seriously. If they did, I honestly believe it would quite a few maps more enjoyable.
Another thing I don't really like are the knife animations, I don't mind a bit of it but they need to be quicker, and the one where you knife from the front and the other person can counter it is pure dog sh*t.
As someone who plays pretty much exclusively as infantry, I agree with Biscuit that it can be incredibly difficult to take out helicopters. On a lot of the maps, you don't have to be a particularly good pilot to dominate infantry.
On the other hand I really like the fact that you can counter melee attacks from the from. I'm sure a lot of players don't realise it can be done, even. But it's great fun turn the knife against an attacker!
The AT is no longer the complete floating tank of epic winning it was, but its far from ineffective with a decent pilot. I can't fly for toffee but have had some great runs as gunner to a decent pilot. The maneouverability buff should see it back to being able to compete with a scout heli but once thats done the only maps it should suck super hard on are the big ones with no cover (golmud, lancang spring to mind).
Agreed on the SOFLAM, although I think SRAW can presently 2 shot a designated MBT, much more might be pushing it. Similarly with the RPG and such. Its possible to 2 shot a tank with the RPG if you hit it right (square in the backside). The rationalisation is that you have to work as a team to be effective. I can see why they did it, but you're right, it is a bit balls at the moment. 50 damage or nothing from the front would make more sense.Another thing I don't really like are the knife animations, I don't mind a bit of it but they need to be quicker, and the one where you knife from the front and the other person can counter it is pure dog sh*t.
I hear you guys. But, the attack chopper at least needs to be able to maneuver quicker. I think the attack chopper was great in Bf3, before they removed the ability for the gunner to have flares. I think vehicles should pose a real threat to an infrantry squad. That said, I take out choppers with the Rpg nearly every round of Bf4 I play (I'm nothing special either). It's also quite easy to sneak up on tanks with C4. And, I have always played Bf4 alone (rarely with a friend), but I deal with tanks pretty well on my ownThey're definitey a bigger challenge on some maps, I agree. But, again - that's the way I think it should be! Each team has vehicles to counter the others..
With the SRAW, I think improving the range of the designator would be enough of a buff ALTHOUGH, the patch is apparently nerfing the SRAW to make it more difficult to guide to a target and reduce the range... no clue why.
I know about the whole square shot to to the rear, but to be at a range where you are likely to get a hit, sneaking up with the C4 is just as, if not more effective.
Thats how I prefer it, the whole dancing around in circles swiping the knife at each other with star trek fight music on in your head (.... or maybe just my head) was fun!
But C4 sneaking shouldn't be more effective tactic against tanks than an RPG, the only reason it is, is because the options available for ranged offence/defence are uncharacteristically poor.
