I'm shocked its still in such good condition :P
Your gona need a bucket and metal detector to pick up tonights wreckage tho :D
lovely site Dak.. thanks for that.. loads to read :)
good find Dakky. The saddest thing is that no IL-2's seem to be anywhere to find :( or rebuild :(
Dude, I'll make you a promise now, if i ever become rich enough to not care about money i'll make you an Il2 sanctuary and i shall have people to go and find and restore them for u ;)
TiG
THAT sounds good :)
I find it so hard to believe that they are all gone. It was Russia's main stay for so long. and SO MANY were made....
all gone :(
bit like the B-24.... LOADS of them made and flown.. and now there's only a handful anywhere.. :( sad really...

you kiddin or what?
really.....an Il2 will fly in the UK?
I have actually gone goose bumpy.... is that serious Dakky?
BTW Cant find a site or pics for Tempest Two anywhere :(
can you imagine seeing that?
a Sturmo giving it a low growl across an airfield, and us sat underneath it?
oh my god...that would be..unreal.
you sure?
i find this unfeasably exciting.
bit like Christmas when I was a kid......can you picture it.....even in howling rain....even BETTER in howling cold blowing rain....
thundering across a muddy airfield, with red stars on the wings....
oh christ....
that stunning wing profile...like a HE111 profile the way they tuck in at the fueselage.
People woulds see it for all the beauty that it is......
and they could drop POPPY'S out from the AJ2 cassettes.....
oh blimey
Yes ;)Quote:
