    Re: Godus

I like it, but then I did back it on Kickstarter.

The beta, representing about 40% of the game, is fairly well polished, and certainly improves on the alpha.

However, it can get very tedious and frustrating as it takes a while to expand your sphere of control from the start area, houses take a while to build and you have to spread across the landscape building houses as you go because youre little people die if they have to walk too far.

    Re: Godus

I believe, multiplayer consists of battles where 2 players compete to complete and objective first, so far this appears to be of the "collect most resources" and "wipe out the other player".

I've not really followed or kept up to date on plans though, and more multiplayer interaction might appear or be planned.

    Re: Godus

I watched the Giantbomb quicklook of this and while I appreciate it's an alpha release.... I dunno, it doesn't seem like it could be much of a game. I also got the impression they are itching to make it a free to play mobile/table game which in my opinion would be a detriment to the "proper" PC version.

    Re: Godus

I actually picked this up, but it takes far too long to progress, and you ruin the landscape by building one continually large settlement.

My other significant gripe is that at the age I am suposidly at, I am building fairly large sprawling buildings (3 in size) and yet still apparently congregate within central huts for community, yet there is not a single one anywhere.

There are no restrictions on population (as far as I can tell), and you appear to be able to live anywhere, with no actual requirement to collect specific resources. People in those days would have required access to water, yet seem happy building sprawling mansions on the highest hills...

Some of it is brilliant, while other aspects just leave you frustrated. I live in a tent, all my neighbour's live in large stone houses, I know, let's not upgrade my existing house.....

My verdict is "alright", but it needs significant development, especially the game pace.
