    Train Simulator 2014

I have often looked at these Train Simulator games and thought "yeah, that could be fun for a while" and reminisced about my brothers old train set and what fun it was to play with. So I just saw TS2014 advertised on Steam and I couldn't help but notice this:

Yesh, you're reading that right, 131 addons totaling £1,740! The game isn't even free, you have to pay £35 for it as well!

Are they having some kind of funny turn at the developers HQ?

    Re: Train Simulator 2014

I picked up Train Sim 2013 from Greenman Gaming last week for £2.75, it will get upgraded to 2014 when it lands on the 26th September free of charge.

The price you are seeing there is for all the DLC and everything else associated!

    Re: Train Simulator 2014

They liken their business model as a digital version of a railway enthusiasts home setup.

All the DLC is sepererate and niche, suiting the needs of a particular "Engine Collector". Some may like the old Steam Engines while others are interested in Diesels or Electrics. Other DLC's add specific routes and destinations. They don't make their DLC as a one size fits all.

On top of that, any annual base game updates are free so you only buy the core pack once. No need to buy a new version & new DLC every year. Comapred to Fifa 20XX and Football Manager XX this is a bargain.

I'm not a rail enthusiast but almost got the same deal as Ferral last week simply as it was a bargain and who didn't like looking at trains as a kid? Getting this would be easier than taking my son to Blue Bell Railway every year!

Didn't this game win a (online) award for being the most expensive?

    Re: Train Simulator 2014

What's worse is there is some guy out there who has bought all of that dlc and think nothing of it.
