Whats your price range?

generally a better laptop for the same price.
I would say go for one which has the A series CPU in it as it has dedicated Radeon graphics built into the chip and is better suited to light gaming and HD output via HDMI to a TV (1080p).
Maybe spend a little extra and get one of the A series HP Pavillion laptops :

CPU review (Slightly faster than the i3 you linked to):

Hi its for my brother whos going into teaching and his budget is around 400. The hp seems to be the best fit but would there be any incompatibility issues with his teaching programs? yes its a noob question needs to be asked to save me a headache down the line.
You will know yourself already, it all depends on which software he is using, most cases compatibility comes down to the OS, if it is something designed for XP or older he could well have some serious issues. Almost all stuff that runs on Vista is fine with 7, few inconsistencies with 8 and what it likes and doesn't (personally don't know a great deal about 8 as I refuse to upgrade until they put the standard start / desktop back in), but if it is going to be primarily used as a study / work machine with business style programs I shouldn't think he will encounter to many issues.
Thanks everyone for the help he went for the hp amd laptop and is thoroughly impressed and that sound quality is just awesome for a laptop.
