    DayZ Early Access Alpha

DayZ as an early Alpha !!

£19.99 not sure i would pay that yet but i wonder how buggy it is compared to the Arma2 DayZ mod ??

    http://store.steampowered.com/app/221100/

Not sure about this timeline !!!
We estimate that reaching Beta version with all key features present will take more than one year from current stage. All features and plans listed here are subject to change, we may add or remove features as seen fit during development process.

One year !!!! maybe they should go striaght to Arma3 instead ?

    Re: DayZ Early Access Alpha

I wouldn't pay £19.99 for a new game unless it was seriously special, let alone an early alpha! Mind you, people will pay for even less than that on Kickstarter.

As long as it's not another WarZ...

For £19.99 I would have expected more. The first mod was so un-optimised I would have expected this one to run better but it seems its just the same!

    Re: DayZ Early Access Alpha

I bought it yesterday, and obviously it isn't going to be perfect, but I think it is pretty good for early stage Alpha, look at Minecraft, it was so basic in even it's Beta stage, and now it is full of stuff!! (Using it as a comparison I am not calling Minecraft and DayZ the same thing)

    Re: DayZ Early Access Alpha

expensive for such a game , but loads of people buying it and playing it , i think they need much bigger team to properly develop dayz , and maybe customize and optimize the engine more , to look better and play better then arma 2 they should of maybe do it on arma 3 engine straight away.

    Re: DayZ Early Access Alpha

Yeah i would not pay 19.99 for a shiny version of the mod. At the moment it doesn't look very different or special. Hopefully during beta or the full release there will be a lot more new content and of course a few less bugs, but thats expected from an early alpha

    Re: DayZ Early Access Alpha

Dayz standalone isnt "just a mod"... its a full game lol! I bought it as I couldnt wait any longer as I really enjoyed the dayz mod, I like one of the steam comments that it is Dayz dialed up to 11 and I firmly agree with this. Its great for its current stage, zombies move much better than the mod and everything just seems 'better' and the interface is much improved (albeit I am still learning bits).

The one feature I would really like in DayZ is the option to spawn with friends type thing, I dont really play Dayz alone I find its infinitely better with mates but when you die and spend a good hour avoiding conflict to meet up ( part of the fun though!) it sometimes would be better to click a button join a 'party' and all be able to spawn either together or in the same city as it would speed up the time required to get surviving as a group .

Really loving the standalone though, cant wait for further improvement.

But both parties would have to consent to this, otherwise you would have bandits up your ass constantly.

It's not really a full game at the moment, it's really just an alpha test for paid members. I think that's why some people have a problem with it.
