2k monitor help

I bought one of those qnix monitors and love it. My only problems with it is that i've noticed when gaming in 1080p that the colours look washed out and then go really good once i change it into 2k(my 670 isn't all that good for 2k on the more demanding games). My other problem is that coming from a 120hz monitor games are a little less responsive. I've heard of people overclocking their monitors but is it safe to do? I would really hate to wreck a monitor that i spent £260 for.

I've noticed something else since gaming in 2k. Games don't look that much better i think the biggest gap for some time will be from 720p to 1080p. Gaming over 1080p seems like just a way to unnecessarily tax your fps.

To anyone that was following this i found the solution here; http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?...604&highlight=. Long story short it's nvidia's(never typing their name with a N again) fault. Its a bug to do with using hdmi and dp that defaults to colour space to limited even though monitors and modern tvs can use full and messes up colours(AMD fixed this issue some time ago).
