    Re: Diablo III: Loot 2.0

Had a bit of a binge over the weekend. Got my Crusader to 70 (my first max level toon, never did get my Monk to 60 in original) and paragon level 24. Got my Monk from 60 to 66. Wizard from 34 to 62. Started a Barb, Demon & WD upto the 20-30 mark.

God I'm an Altoholic but man the game is sweet when you get your 1st socketed weapon at 15ish and wack in some uber gem

I've always been poor in game. Never had more than 2m gold and normally sitting around the 1m mark. I didn't spend much on my alts, I mean levelling as a group on master is soooooo quick there is no point spending any money on gear. I just had some rare crafted weapons & helms at certain levels (every 10?) with Imperial rubies in them and then just used whatever dropped as I levelled.

Now I'm level 70 now I see what gold is for! Man everything super expensive now!

How much more expensive than 60 is it? Solo sessions at torment II or so typically cost me about 5k in repairs between town visits (but I'll have made much more so no problem).

It's more the gem crafting (and to a lesser extent, enchanting/reforging). Creating a Flawless Royal gem takes a total of 81 Marquise gems and 9.8m gold. If you're playing on harder difficulties then you get some imperial gems in amongst the Marquises, but not enough to make a huge difference.

Not sure on average repair bills as I've not been paying attention. Had one for 30k the other day and my gear is pants

It's more the crafting side of things that has suddenly skyrocketed. I mean combining gems upto 60 was what? 5k max? Now for something like Imperial (lowest RoS gem) to Marquise is 200k and there are another 3 higher gems above that!

I also found re-rolling items cost loads of gold. I blew through a few million doing that.

    Re: Diablo III: Loot 2.0

It’s probably cheaper now, especially given the increase in gold drop rate. Pre-Marquise you’d spend 13mil+ (forget exact calculation now) to craft a +58 gem. Then when they introduced the Marquise gems you’d be combining effectively 3 of those 18-21mil (market value) gems to make a Marquise. Now you can simply loot Marquise gems.

Although, with the removal of the AH they had to bring down the overall cost. I’ve spent a bit on gems and have some Flawless Royal Rubies waiting for when I get better chest armour. Like CAT-THE-FIFTH I spend a lot on rerolling items. I think every piece except one (belt) has been rerolled on my main (Barbarian). It took 10 rerolls to get +10% Crit on my Legendary gloves. Had +8% by the second roll but wanted more!

The most expensive is rerolling Legendary necklaces. You don’t pay gold but you have to use one of the +160 stat gems (sorry, forgotten the name) each attempt. Ouch!

Not sure if I should start spending money re-rolling it or wait for something better for Crusader tho.

Feel silly that I didn't do that ASAP. Didn't even notice what the emeralds did in weapons!

Few hours last night, made some Reapers Wraps that were extremely disappointing, stuck in bank in case I can re-roll them for another class later but got a new legendary belt

    http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/K.../hero/38708206

Annoyingly my toughness keeps going up and up but DPS isn't moving much. Paper wise its not 100% as I have 3x pieces that are doing +15% to my main damage skills but still.

Get a helm with crit chance, your jewellery and gloves are also lacking Crit Chance, Attack Speed and Crit Damage. CC, CD and AS (known as the trifecta) on jewellery and gloves are hugely important for dps!

Here's my profile - http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/w.../hero/32853869 I've gone too far the other way though - Plenty of damage (1.18m buffed, 1.25m if I replace Blur with Glass Cannon), but I'm a bit squishy. I'm comfortable doing Torment 1 (even carrying people), I've got the dps for higher torments too, but I need to be in a group or I take too much damage. My aim now is to increase my toughness without sacrificing dps.

    Re: Diablo III: Loot 2.0

Good advice from Bagnaj97, you should reroll +Crit or +CritDam where you can. However, don’t overlook the importance of +Elemental and slightly less so +Skill. Paper DPS is just an indicator of what your theoretical “base” DPS is. Not sure if someone has mentioned this before but the orange button/diamond on the gear statistics indicates that it has not been factored into sheet DPS. From what I understand skill and elemental damage is multiplicative which is why you see people stacking it. So actual DPS is well above what the sheet DPS indicates.

When I first switched to my lighting build (still work in progress) my paper DPS went down almost 100k due to the loss of the old Witching Hour belt (+CritDam +AttackSpeed). However the overall DPS was clearly higher when fighting (3 +Lightning% items).

Don’t forget that once you reach a certain level of toughness (mitigation > health), it’s more about regeneration.

EDIT: A good ratio of +Crit to +CritDam is 1:10 as a guide. If you have good skills that trigger from critical hits then you can have a bias towards +Crit. No point having lots of small critical hits (high +Crit, low +CritDam) or infrequent large critical hits (low +Crit, High +CritDam). Paragon levels are a good way to balance this out. Move points from +Crit to +CritDam as needed to compensate for gear weighting.

    Re: Diablo III: Loot 2.0

Cool I'll have a play around with gear tonight

Still yet to find a build I'm happy with on Crusader, kind of waiting for a weapon drop that will force me into one. The one I'm currently using is a lot of fun but when Akarat is on CD I find its quite wrath starved.

But there is something fun about popping Bowmen, HF, Law and Akarat before spamming FotHivine Well which instantly resets Bownmen & HF and repeat!
