    Titanfall discussion

So it was released last week, what are everyones thoughts on it?

Personally I'm finding the gameplay extremely addictive but incredibly intense. But the game, although polished feels unfinished in terms of content, especially for a £40 rrp title. Is has content I'd expect in a £20 title.

But still enjoying it, I prefer using the Atlas body as it has a good mix of strength and speed. Also looks a bit like Cherno Alpha from Pacific Rim (honestly wouldn't surprise me to learn that Titanfall was originally a Pacific Rim tie in game)

    Re: Titanfall discussion

Yeah, it's fun but doesn't have the depth of Battlefield.....OTOH, it doesn't have any (many?) bugs either and has been a joy to play a fair number of hours without a single problem....something that is quite refreshing these days!

I see there is a season pass available as well....although that is unsurprising really.

    Re: Titanfall discussion

My only big problem with it is the lack of mod support, considering it's built on the source engine that's pretty much heresy.

Still, the developers haven't ruled it out. I expect we'll see an SDK a little bit after all the DLC has been released. Gotta make sure people buy the season pass.

I'll be picking it up next week. After getting burnt out on BF4 I wasn't in the mood for a first person MP game but starting to feel like I want to play now.

I am finding it fun but there really ins't enough maps and they are quite small as well.

A Pacific Rim mod would be awesome. This is a game which would be great if they added Kaiju.

The maps do feel a bit small when your in a Titan....although i do find that when an evac is called and your on foot, suddenly the maps don't feel so small any more.

This is pretty much my opinion as well. Can see me losing quite a few hours in this game. Its nice not to have to concentrate like I have to on BF4 (and still lose).

    Re: Titanfall discussion

Haven't played this myself yet but just watched a couple of videos on youtube, doesn't seem like the game has much depth to it, just seemed to be run about shooting everything without any real objectives, but for that it did look like quite good fun.

    Re: Titanfall discussion

It feels like a rip off to me tbh. No private matches, no varied or special mp modes and a crappy campaign. However it is a new studio so hopefully the second one is much better or they patch the hell out of this one.

    Re: Titanfall discussion

(I am very new to these forums and PC building/customization in general - So... yes, I AM a newbie. Lol.)

Titanfall is the best game I have played in quite a long time, in my opinion at least. I have read some of the not-so-positive reviews, and though I understand where they may be coming from, I would have to disagree with them. Titanfall is a perfect blend for me.

My favorite part of Titanfall is the concept and the "storyline". The game looks great and it plays quite nice, as well, but I can't say that I've ever seen a mech game that focuses on the mechs AND the pilots equally. So this game is definitely an A+ in my book. =]. I do see some Call of Duty similarities, but at the same time, Respawn Entertainment has incorporated a lot of their own "touch" to any similarities that it might share with Call of Duty. The gameplay is so much fun! Even if I am getting my butt kicked, I can still find joy by playing game modes with objective based goals or by murdering some of the AI soldiers that roam the battlefields.

Titanfall is going to be a game that I play for a long, long time. =].

I think it is definitely worth the price tag. (I live in the United States, but I used a proxy to log into Mexico's version of Origin and got the game [season pass included] for $45) Even though I got it at this discounted price I still would have gladly payed the extra $30 for the DLC after finding out how much enjoyment I get from playing this game. You are right though Vanguard1138, the game does feel unfinished at times, however; Respawn is adding free content (like: private matches, possible video editing options for machinima type stuff, rumors have been made about gametypes, etc.) through future patches that will make it feel not so empty. I do hope you feel you get your moneys worth by the time those patches are released.

    I ... Just ... LOVE ... Titanfall. =].

This is the classic EA mentality. They like to whet your appetite with a new game. Looks fantastic but in the end its always, Meh. Then 6-12 months later they release an expansion or a sequel that makes it better.

    "Pay for it twice boys!"

One of the many reasons why I dont play EA games any more.

I think it means that if you have the seasonpass you will receive all dlc over time. But knowing EA im probably wrong!

    Re: Titanfall discussion

Basically its like BF4 Premium service. A season pass basically means you pre-buy all the DLC's / Expansions that come out over the next year instead of paying for them separately as they are released. When full price it normally works out about 15-20% cheaper in my experience. When you get a deal on teh season pass (like above) it works out A LOT cheaper.
