I could well be tempted by one of those at some point, I'm really not getting on with the x.45, one of the reasons I've not been flying much..

Well my X45 has developed some nasty errors and will be taken to pieces once the X52 arrives.

I would be interested in your experiences w/ the stick -- the POS I got last week has a 20% dead zone you can't get rid off. My last reply from Saitek support so far:
Fine, but 20% ? Give me a break, what game is playable w/ that ? Guess I'm going to return that sucker. Sigh, I liked the idea of using hall sensors on x/y (too bad the twist is a pot). Oh well, it isn't build that sturdy anyway..Originally Posted by Saitek Support
BTW, the 1.5cm are in any direction -- makes for a 3cm dead zone. It's about 4mm of the overall travel (2cm) of the magnets around the hall sensors ( --> 20%).
which stick was that Grendel?
Oops, sorry -- X52
Arrived today....will post over the weekend.
Sorry Grendel, excuse my ignorance but what do you mean by "POS" ? If the stick has a 20% dead zone in elevator, aerelon or rudder then it's going back and I'll get another X45.

Asked a friend in the US who got an X-52:-
"I didn't find the dead zone unusually large. The control was good given its constant tension and Hall sensors, however I found it incredibly light, even lighter than the X45."
Now he is used to a TM Cougar (which explains the stick forces) but he obviously didn't find the X-52 deadzone a problem.
He did return the X-52 because the stick forces were too light for him & he has a CH setup coming this week to try (but I think that he will have the same problem with that).
First impressions are positive. I just love the light axes. No need for cable ties on this beaut!
The X and Y axes have a lovely feel to them and I can find no "dead zones". The software is even more configurable than the X45 and you have a whole "dead zone" folder just like my (now knackered) CH Pro Pedals.
The Stick is configurable for different size hands which is neat and the twist works well. Only noticeable critisism so far is that the button hat layout doesnt feel so natural as the X45, but that could be because I got so used to the X45.
Lots new to play with including that weird two stage trigger which is totally configurable in the software as I suspected it would be. Now have enough axes on the throttle for all three trims. Also are three 2 stage buttons on the stick for which you need to take you hand of the stick to use??? I guess I'll find a use for them.
Most annoying thing so far is that the X45 config does not port in anyway to the X52. So I have taken the opportunity to revise all my IL2 configs and then totally reprogram the X52 software. It's going to take me ages
Fuller report later when I have actually used it in anger.

Sounds good, but I have enough trouble remembering what the buttons do on my cyborg evo!
