Excellent news, that might mean there would be loads of players who are bigger n00bs than me online giving me a chance to hit a get a few more kills, lol. Bring it on!!!
Is it anygood? I'm 25% through downloading BF3 for the first time.
It's worth trying for free, though many prefer BF3, visually I think BF4 is better. I'd have to install BF3 and play it again in order to decide which I prefer.
BF3 has MUCH better map design IMO.
Some of the DLC maps for BF4 are decent but there are still a lot of problems with it.
Somehow I have put more hours into BF4, but I think prefer BF3 still.
I just wish they would port all the maps over.
I've been tempted to buy it for a while now. I'm glad they're doing this as I loved BF3 but don't like it quite as much on PC as it doesn't have controller integration (I can't use a keyboard and mouse on games with vast control schemes like this as I get RSI very quickly - games like counter strike etc are fine).
Oh and Rush is utterly unplayable on BF4. I dont know what they were thinking but they allow commanders on Rush, so its utterly pointless.
Is it any better than BF3?
I heard that became P2W
Heh, lots of jaded BF4 owners in the thread. Can't really blame you. For those who haven't played. It's not a bad game overall. Just could of been a whole lot better, quite easily. Which is a shame. It's not P2W at all. There's weapons you can't get without expansions, but they're nothing that special. Just more of the same.
Double XP boost is right now too btw.
Double XP is premium only isn't it?
I think the Deagle and Bulldog have made it a bit PTW as they are overpowered, but if you have other rifles set up properly its possible to defeat them.
A tip for new players: don't use sights other than iron or reflex unless you are sniping as the recoil doesn't follow the sight movement. Sticking to iron sights has proven quite effective with some guns.
My faves at the moment are M240B, SAR21, Ace52-CQB
Sweet. One week is more than enough to become bored with it and not have to pay :D
Very few guns have useable irons IMO. Although you're right about the scope sway, I can't wait for the september patch which should fix it and make rush better with the map tweaks commander removal.
I've been deliberately trying different guns lately and I'm surprised what a difference it makes, I still can't use DMRs but things like swapping the AWS out for an M60, AEK for the L85 etc has made quite a difference to the way I play the game.
Some of the irons are very difficult to get used too, but if you persist you realllllyyyyyyy reap the benefits! The ones i have posted above all have fairly usable irons, try giving the 250B a go mate, it does as much damage as the M60 but it has a better ROF and is much easier to control, especially with some grips attached. If you get used to it you can easily mow entire squads down at a distance.
Haha, very true!
