    Job done.

Be aware though, especially if you play in Open, that you juuuuuuuuuuust might get scanned by someone with a Warrant Scanner. Even though you're not Wanted in any given system, that will show you have a Bounty in another and that someone can then kill you for the Bounty.
Happens quite rarely these days though.

    Two basic options, IMO.

1/. Approach the base carefully in the SRV, use any and all available cover, take down the Skimmers, Turrets etc one at a time. Try to stay hidden or out of range from the hostiles, while drawing the Skimmers out to you.

2/. If you're good with the stick, fly in with your ship and shoot everything up. Works great on turrets, though skimmers are quite small and you'll need to get very close in. Missiles might help.
Thanks man! I'll try it again in my ship this time, but I'll need to take out the 2 ships first as they may smoke me lol, then turrets. Just hoping the mission isn't expired by the time I get to the PC tonight as its a nice payout comparing to what I'm mostly getting, got 1.8m Cr banked and saving up for a decent Exploration/Passenger ship.

    Re: Elite : Dangerous

Get fixed weapons and do it using the ship. You need to get fairly close, but skimmers provide no worries whilst you're in the ship unless you crash in to one. Easy credits.

Perhaps... sometimes they are just innocent bystanders, although less likely if they're security/law enforcement or of the same faction as your target.

    What you flying now?
The Asp Explorer is pretty darn snazzy for the above.

I do it with gimballed and turrets, just lock your weapons to forward fire and zap away at those skimmers, once you hit one you can lock onto them as they become hostile, they it's *really* easy.

I've only done a lot, but sat there in an Anaconda seemed a little OTT.

Well that didn't work out too well lol. I've just declined the mission and continue doing the courier ones. I got interdicted as I was heading towards my final destination which was a planet to drop some goods, I was melting him but he kept outmaneuvering me, had him down to 24% and then the police turned up and he left. Abit gutted I didn't finish him off lol.

Silly question - Do you make use of things like power balance, strafing and Flight Assist Off during combat? The Cobra is one of the nippier ships out there. There shouldn't be much that can out-turn you with all the tricks at your disposal.

If you've got the armour/shielding and the firepower, it's sometimes easier to just hit reverse, fly backwards and shoot them apart while they come at you. You just have to be a little precise with your aim and vary your rearward direction a touch to keep from being a dead-straight target.

I use XBO controller for flight and I'm sure flight assist is off?

Didn't matter in the end, as I got interdicted again last night, melted the NPC in less than a minute. Continued on my way to planet to "disable a generator" mission, for some reason I got the same mission twice so I was getting back 700-800k which was nice.

Now sitting with 3.2m Cr, I'll be back on tonight to try and get my standings ranked up. Thoroughly enjoying the game now!

Likely not - It's usually on by default. With FAO, if you move the stick to turn the ship, it will keep turning until you counter it with the exact opposite input.
When you're being outmanoeuvred and the target goes blasting past - What you do is get up to speed with throttle in the Blue Zone for best manoeuvrability (you know about this, I guess?), bump 4 pips into engines, then begin the turn. As you start to turn, knock FA off and you'll turn even faster. This is how you gain position on things like Eagles. I keep FAO as a hold-switch function, so you can release teh button and drop it on again just as you come onto target. Often you'll catch them before they've started turning round, or more often as they're turning their roof or underside toward you - That's the biggest exposure and sometimes their weapons can't even line up on you, so unload at them and let 'em have it!!!

Always good when you get to stack missions like that - I figure that it's plenty possible for more than one person in the entire galaxy to put out a contract on the same target, so why not!!

I'll bear that mind but I thought the ideal thing to do when in combat was to pip all on Weapons? Oops. lol

When you're being shot at, pips to shields. When you're firing on someone (hopefully from a position they can't shoot back), pips to weapons.
When you need to get a turn on fast, pips to engines - When you do this, you'll see that the blue zone goes up the scale, which means your optimum speed for manoeuvres is thus faster. This also applies to Boosting, by the way.

If you're caught with the target able to fire on you without you being able to shoot back, what you can do is hit Boost, then before it runs out hit FA off and execute the turn - You'll spin round very fast and be in a position to open fire or take other evasive actions. Just remember that in FAO you will keep moving in whatever direction and turns you started until you counter the motion or turn FA back on.

Think about the flip move Kara Thrace does in her Viper on Battlestar Galactica. That's pretty much the basics of what you're doing.

The challenge starts to get to you. Now you've discovered your first star, you'll want to discover your first world that is a candidate for terraforming, then your first earth-like, then your first ammonia - then your first carbon star!

I'll get back to exploration, but my plan is to head back to my home system and get working on my engineers. With my first one allowing me to modify the FSD.

And also looking to do some pew pew!

Engineers is a boring grind if I've ever seen one. Still, I upgraded my Asp to get 51ly on empty, which made my jaunt out to the Formdine Rift a while ago pretty quick. Much better than the 17ly I had on my Python when I went to Jacques.

They have ditched a lot of the junk that made it boring and grindy.
Now they mostly just require a couple of materials, which you mostly pick up along the way while doing missions and bimbling about in your SRV. Can even find them as drifting cargo at USSes or combat encounters.
I've done a few Engineers lately.
