... There's lots of third party stuff being adapted for Elite. Loads of people are using iPads as touch screen surfaces to trigger commands and all sorts.

That's good to hear - I was thinking this morning that one thing a lot of games (particularly space sims) could really use is a second "companion" touch screen to do all the menu and non-(flight/motion/combat) stuff on. I also wondered if the ED markets will be available as a web service or something outside of the main game - how cool would it be to have a smartphone app where you could check the in-game markets and trade goods instead of having to hope the prices haven't shifted too much by the time you get home and log on...? I assume that's not an at-launch plan, but it'd really bring the virtual world to life...

I genuinely don't have enough time to drop £15 extra on early access to ED - I doubt I'd get more than a couple of hours play in before the final version's released! I'm still debating whether I'll have enough time to play it to make it worth paying £35 on release - I'm meant to have days off to do extra curricular activities but I'm working quite a lot of overtime which is pushing all of that into the evenings (messing about with emulation notwithstanding!). Still, I've probably got a while before I have to make that decision....

It works lovely with FaceTrackNoIR - not sure about TS though, I can imagine some people having a bit of fun if they know people use speakers haha!

I think that push to talk on TS will stop it from picking up normal speech, headphones will stop it picking up comments made by other people on your TS channel.

How we all getting on? I've decided to chop in my fighter and do a bit of bandit scavenging. So, have bought a Hauler and I'll be mostly found buzzing around LP132-98 picking up whatever I can find. It's proving rather profitable at the moment, unlike trading since 1.04! Anyone else noticed that the supply and demand has dried up? Chango/IBootis doesn't have any fish to sell for example...

I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!

All the server connection failures, controllers not being recognised, players spawn-camping and just ramming me to death in one pass, controls going schizoid mid-game, graphics being utterly naff, OTT marketing hype, development delays, pointless merchandising and general failure to present anything that justifies the amount of money we've sunk into funding this thing......

So I went and bought the Elite Dangerous beta instead!!!!!
