Elite : Dangerous

Well, this has been an enlightening 48 hours. I've probably sunk over 12 hours into e:d already, and am on my way to 70k credits. I'm still on the original sidewinder and have only added a heatsink to help cool-down between FSD warps.

I'm planning on buying an Adder once I've accrued enough points, but so far am really enjoying it.

I've encountered some weird stuttering / distortion in the audio that occurs occasionally. I find if I quit to the main menu and then drop back into game it cures it, and it occurs mostly on open play rather than solo. I've a friend who's experienced the same issue so I guess it's a game issue rather than my system.

I'm looking forward to future updates of the game - particularly planetary drop-in which is supposedly coming soon, and some more random events throughout systems. I'd also like to see more going on at stations - advertising, human movement, droids / drones buzzing around - that kinda thing.

Do rare items need to be sold at specific places or is it simply a case of fly out 100+ Light years in any direction away from the planet where they were bought?

Also I've just noticed that I have an Eagle at HIP 74555 as well as my Cobra Mk iii, how do I get to fly it?

you can sell them anywhere, 130-150LY seems the best return.

You need to fly too it I'm afraid.

I flew about 74ly to get to the HIP system with my Eagle, so I'm halfway now, but I ran out of time as I had to go out. Will probably only take about 20 minutes to cover the remaining 50-60ly.

Got a nice little rare loop im working at the moment. Nets about 300k a loop and doesn't take all that long (especially now that I got an upgraded jump drive in my Cobra

Servers have a few issues tonight, transactions in commodities market not working properly, items I buy keep disappearing from cargo hold but I don't get the money back :(

i noticed that too around 2am last night. Now servers are down for maintenance.:drool:

Apparently, dont bother with the rare at proxima centuri, it takes an hour to get to in system

Other than that, im loving the game, just upgraded to an adder on my way toward the cobra mk 1

I just bought a interdicter and I am having much fun killing criminals. Don't earn as much as trading but we'll worth it. Ordered a Thrustmaster Hotas x today. This will make the game even more fun.

Finding decent trades has been pretty hard for me, where I am.
I'm bounty-hunting instead and building a nice collection of ships - Got a Hauler, Viper and Type-6 in storage, with my eye on an Asp next.
Still building more credits to outfit the Viper first, though.

However, the 2.5-ish million Credits I've earned have mostly been done on my lovely free Eagle. I can take down Sideys, Haulers, the entire Lakon cargo range, Asps, Cobras, Adders, Fed Dropships, Orcas and even have some Anaconda kills to my name. Struggling with Imperial Clippers for some reason, though...

Google slopeys and you will come across a trade calculator for it. You enter your location port and set distance and it will calculate the profit based on the commodity and your budget and cargo space.

I did play with Slopeys and a couple of others a bit during the Beta...
However, because I hate messing about ALT+TABbing in and out of a game all the time, I had to use the phone app which was very limited.

I'd also heard that 3rd party tools were now banned/blocked/severely restricted because they scraped data from the game and ED weren't too happy with other people mucking about behind the scenes on their server?

Part of me does feel like I'm cheating myself with these things... but the part of me that is crap with numbers kinda still wants to use it. I dropped over a million Cr buying a Lakon Type-6, so I'd like to get some decent return from trading - I need to outfit that ship, as it's a deathtrap if I get interdicted by so much as an Eagle anyway, but I'm also now struggling to find Wanted targets who *aren't* members of friendly/allied factions!!

Easiest way to run slopeys is to run ED in borderless windowed mode, especially if you have 2 monitors
