    Downside is the need to undeploy weaponry to hit the SCB but the shields are so strong that you get plenty of warning to disengage. For PVP I'd be tempted to drop it back to Fixed Pulses and get the SCB into power group 1.

    2 Plasma accellerators is pretty much unusable against anything smaller than a Python, although one PA and and a gimballed beam is pretty damn good if you're anaconda hunting.

    On my Viper I ran 2x small pulse and 2x medium PA's. Never had a problem hitting stuff in the Viper so doubt I'd have an issue with the Vulture given it's even more manoeuvrable.

    As the old WW2 pilots used to say, 'When you think you're close enough to fire, get closer'...

    True, although I think class 3 are even slower than class 2? My issue was more with the need to sacrifice sheild boosters and stuff. Its fun, but I was finding it wasn't really improving TTK on 90% of targets (essentially anything not an anaconda) as its so much harder to hit something like a python's power plant with PAs than lasers, or even the fixed cannon so I found myself having to grind the whole hull rather than just the one subsytem. Then again, maybe I just need to fly better.

    Not sure about the speed of the projectile - never had a class 3 so not sure. When I've got the coin I'll do a side by side and see.

    Still on gimbled pulse lasers, so I can go pew pew all day without having to reload. Things roast fast enough.

    Getting about 1M cr/hour in Lugh playing solo mode on CSG side in the high intensity conflict area.

    With the way the Vulture flies, you just lightly strafe around the target and unload on it until it goes........b-b-b-b-BOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!!!
    Gimbals just mean you can be extra lazy about your aiming, while you're at it.

    I'd consider going turretted except I like to decide when a weapon is firing, especially around certain annoying NPCs who I am sure are just Flash-For-Cash insurance claimants!

    I was talking specifically about the PAs. cannnons are not too bad. I like a gimbal with the fixed cannon as you can keep both firing.

    I thnk I've seen somewhere that gimballed has a 25% damage reduction vs. Fixed, which (until the AI starts to do chaff properly) is probably about the extra firing time you get from having gimbal I'd say. I'm primarily PvE though, against players, fixed all teh way.

    Something like that.
    But with the way you can outmanoeuvre some ships, gimbals mean you can keep a bead on the target much longer and often kill it quicker than with the more powerful fixed.
    No point in high-punching guns if you can't land the hits.

    The power of the weapons goes

    Fixed
    Gimballed
    Turret

    I prefer gimballed as what use is a powerful weapon if you cannot hit anything. I have 2 gimballed beam lasers and 4 gimballed multicannons and they do me fine.

    Toyed with other weapons but none are as effective for me. Maybe my aiming is poor.

    I wouldn't recommend playing in open play for a while but playing in solo or a private server until you get your bearings would be recommended.
