I do prefer Steam voice comms, though, as FD's is sometimes laggy, distorted, or just doesn't transmit.

More than happy to wing with any of you lot, though my ship isn't particularly geared for heavy combat at the moment. Much more speed self defense oriented currently until I get enough for my FDL. Once I get her, I'll be back on combat duties.

Finally got what I'm hoping will be my 'end game' ship for quite some time, until I decide to go for something silly like an Anaconda!



Haven't flown her yet, but if she flies half as good as she looks I'll be happy! What I didn't ever realise from the screenshots of the FDL is that there's quite a bit of bling chrome on it that reflects the environment around it. I'm going to treat myself to a tactical skin pack later on.

How does it fly though?

Best way to describe it would be similar to the Viper. Very quick to accelerate in any direction, but at the expense of pitch speed. It's not 'pitch agile' like a Vulture, you have to work hard to keep the nose pointing at a target. It's bloody quick though, 405 on boost with a combat payload, and about 300or so off boost. Very much a boom and zoom affair, I imagine against a capital ship it's probably the best ship for routing given it can carry the huge PA.

Yeah, I used to run a pair on my old Vulture. High population High Tech systems are the best bet.

I've spent a few weeks looking for them in high tech systems and have oddly found quite a few c3 beams lasers but no burst.

So this weekend I encountered my first capital class ship. Jumped into my 'home' system's conflict zone (raging for a while between Empire and Feds) and onboard computer warns me of an incoming capital class ship. I'd got the sound up rather loud, and after watching the pretty lightning show a Farragut drops in, nearly removing my eardrums in the process. Suffice to say my allies started dropping like flies, and I couldn't for the life of me land hits on its heat relays that caused any damage at all (even with a PA). If anyone fancies a laugh, let me know and I'll show you where it is.
