Does anyone play dota 2 or have any good games they would recommend to play
Played Dota 2 before and it has a steep learning curve. If you have played previous mobas I encourage you to try it. If not I still would say try it, but stick to it for longer, games can be confusing at first. It's very fun and addicting.
Another game similar to it which I would recommend is League of Legends. I've played it for about 3 years now, got over 2000 games on it and thoroughly enjoyed it. I must say though its NOT a free game because if you start to enjoy it and play it frequently (which happens in nearly every case) you always spend money on it.
The problem with both is the community can be quite... volatile? Lets just say unpleasant. That's only a few people though, every multiplayer game has their fair share of ragers.
I have played dota for about 1 and half years now I know what you mean by they are not free games when you spend money on cosmetics etc etc and yeah the community can be horrible at times
I liked dota 2 when I tried it but I wouldn't play it over League. League is said to be an "easier" game, which it is for beginners, but in your case I think it will be of similar difficulty to dota. They have just slightly different maps and different metas.
I'm only ranked Gold on League at this time, after 3 years, not that I'm any good at the game
I tried it, spent a few hours with it, but to tell the truth it really didn't appeal to me at all. It's not that I couldn't see what people like, it just didn't excite me at all.
I found the video, Free to Play really fascinating, this film was the reason I tried playing DOTA 2 in the first place, I think DOTA 2 is a game I enjoy more as a spectator than as a player.
I prefer to watch LoL esports than to actually play it, even after playing it for so long
MOBAs just don't appeal to everyone and I understand why, "It feels like a grind to get anywhere or to be any good while doing the same thing over and over". That's what one of my friends told me anyways
