    Re: GTA V Discussion thread!

I Googled them the other day. What's worrying me is Samsung seemed to have stalled on their production and only lg are making them. Hope it doesn't die out like plasma.
Unfortunately like plasma current gen oled can suffer from burn in. I've never had any issues gaming for hours but I won't want to spend 4 hours typing on a pretty much static image.
Back on topic though.. Yeah gta v.. It's amazing. One giant improvement I'm loving is the fact that the same car your driving doesn't spawn like crazy around you. Also underwater my god! The mission I'm on someone mentioned the possibllity of a sub! I hope so!!

Well that's different to console - spawning is terrible. Since Christmas, I've still not been able to find a couple of cars anywhere...

It sounds as if you've got Vsync enabled in your graphics settings, which will limit your FPS to your TV's refresh rate...

Yes vsync is defo on. I was surprised at how high the framerate was. My laptop had an 870m (kepler similar to gtx660) and that used to get in the low 40s with fxaa and 2x msaa mixture of high settings. The jump is massive because the msaa is very demanding. If I set the graphics like for like the laptop would be low 20s. Three times the performance is a huge jump.

I have a 7950, would getting another identical card improve things in any way? I read when the game came out people were having stuttering issues with Crossfire, has this been fixed?

    Re: GTA V Discussion thread!

Been enjoying GTA a lot lately, however something happened a week ago and it's slowly getting more and more annoying... I raised a support ticket!

As I mentioned earlier, I had been doing dailies. Last weekend I was just about to hit three weeks in a row, one week short of a nice $500k bonus. However, I had created a new character, for appearance purposes. Within a day I had levelled it to 15 so did the daily objectives. Then I switched back to my original character to do the dailies as him and they were marked as completed and were the same ones I did with my new character. So I thought, OK, cool, they are limited to your account not your character (unlike other games).

However, on Monday I noticed that my monthly progress had been reset. I raised a support ticket, and received two completely unrelated automated responses and silence since then.

Now, looking back, I think I can understand why this happened (do 27 days with high level char, create new char and do one day, massive level boost straight away), however with no notification and it not being mentioned anywhere in the FAQ's/Wiki's/Rockstar Support pages, I believe it's a little unfair to punish me for changing characters.

Everywhere I read, even on Rockstar pages, it says the "player" must complete daily objectives every day. Nowhere does it mention doing dailies with different characters. If the daily progress is limited to one character, then why wasn't I able to do the dailies on my original character after doing them on my new character? If you can only do them on one character, why wasn't I informed in game that doing the dailies on my new character would stop and block my three weeks of progress on my first character?

So many questions, so many annoyances, and now that this weekend I would have been on for a nice $500k and 50k RP bonus, it's even more upsetting knowing I have to wait another 3 weeks until I actually get it!

It's really putting me off playing. The more they ignore me the more annoyed I get, and it eats at me whilst playing.

    Re: GTA V Discussion thread!

Finally got a response, but the not the kind of response I expected. First off they said in the ticket I would be given $50k "compensation" for my problem. Considering the monthly reward is $500k and 50k RP, this is nothing. However, when I logged in I got a message saying 50k RP had been applied to my first character (the old one). Annoyed, I switched over to my old character to find that they had not given him 50k RP, they had set his RP level to 50k. This essentially took him from level 60+ to level 14!

And of course, there have been no further replies to the ticket.

Really starting to lose faith in Rockstar's support...

Does anyone know of a way to escalate a ticket?

I'm losing all will to play the online game before I've even tried it! Doesn't seem like they're overly helpful :/

See if you can find an email for the head of customer service or something on Google.

There's a certain amount of luck involved - sometimes there are tanks hanging around outside the hanger, & sometimes there are soldiers inside the hanger. The other hard part is dodging the missiles they send up after you take off - as you saw in the video, I use the 'barrel-roll' technique
