Dishonoured and Bioshock Infinite
Dishonoured is amazing I played the whole game avoiding killing anyone except the target (and sometimes not even then). You can play as a sneak em up or hack and slash. There are so many nice touches in this game.
Bioshock Infinite - I loved the change from dark and frightening in the bio shock 1 and 2 to light and uplifting in this new one. And it runs on magic and unicorns. I have it running at 30fps on medium on a 2011 MBP.
Would recommend Dark Souls to anyone, take it slowly and read all of the items. The story is incredible if you're willing to work for it, listen to every piece of NPC dialog and really think about what's going on in the world.
My suggestion would to have a look at a game called Torchlight II which seems to have high reputation on the PC RPG genre. Not only does it implement randomly generated dungeons but mods allow the game to have a vast array of more content. Although this is seen with many, if not all other Adventure RPG's.
Also, I'd like to reinforce everyone's suggestion in considering games such as AC, Dishonored, Skyrim and Fallout without a doubt.
