My suggestion for PC Gaming- go try a tower defense game

    Lo people

Defence Grid - The Awakening (£7 Steam)

    or

    Sol Survivor (£8 Steam)

All I suggest is that, before you buy a new game in a genre you always play... change .. try a tower defense game.. and give it plenty of time.

    do it.. dare ya!

I've been playing DefenSe Grid since before the potato hunt. It's awesome.

I'm a big fan of Revenge Of The Titans, £6.99 at the moment but I'm sure it's frequently on offers.

The wife reliably informs me that Kingdom Rush is *the* tower defence game to play, although I understand she's also quite enjoyed playing Toy Defence recently....

I see your Defence Grid and raise you Iron Brigade currently £2.19 on steam on 80% off to celebrate it getting rid of GFWL.

    Sod this PC business.

Pixel junk monsters and savage moon on the PS3.

    Classics of the genre.

I bought Defence Grid years ago but didn't really enjoy it for some reason. It seemed to me to win you just spam the same towers and there wasn't a real depth in strategy... The one tower defence game I still play from time to time is Bloons!

Re: My suggestion for PC Gaming- go try a tower defense game

I can highly recommend Defender's Quest - it's a solid tower defence game, but with RPG elements. Your "towers" are characters of various classes that level/gear up as you play through the game. The storyline is interesting, the soundtrack is good and the pixel art is well done.

I've also poured hundreds of hours into Dungeon Defenders. It's a highly polished Tower Defence/Third Person Shooter/RPG hybrid. Enemies drop gear, which you then use to build your character. I've always preferred the more "hands off" approach of building my characters to have the strongest possible towers, but a lot of people prefer to build stronger player characters to dish out ridiculous DPS. Basically third person tower defence with Diablo style loot whoring!
