    program crashing

    I have il2 FB, AMD2600 768M RAM 128MRAM 5200 video card
Memory is tested and good but still towards the end of a mission I get

instuction 0x0c86001e referred to memory 0x0c8b72b0 and could not be read.

    End Program?

and all my hard work has been in vain

I was introduced to this Sim/game during a chat about FS2004 and have never looked back. I am still at the easy stage but it is really getting its hooks into me. I feel it will be a while yet before I fly online but it must be the best value bit of software I have on my machine.

    Any comments Gents Ta

I'd suggest changing your video drivers to start with, also is it patched to the latest version ? For FB stand alone you need this

    ftp://ftp.ubisoft.com/games/il2sturm...121_over10.exe

I'd also consider upgrading your graphics card at some point because with a better card your system will run FB veeeery nicely

that SOUNDS like you are using the wrong patch....done in the wrong order

You need to put the latest patch in in TWO parts...in the right order.

FB should work straight out of the box... the patches for it were improvemnts/bug fixes/new aircraft.

Try updating all your drivers and Direct X first, BEFORE patching FB.

If it's not working after that, then try patching... sounds like something is up on your system more than anything up with the game.

Ooh, one more thing. Start over with a fresh install of FB, not a re-write over the top.

Oh, one more, one more thing... I know it sounds wierd, but you can also try rolling back sound/gfx drivers... try matchin up to the versions shown in the read me, just to get it going, then use the FBSetup util to set everything to lowest detail before slamming in the lastest drivers and seeing if she'll fly.

Thanks for the input folks. I am downloading the patch as I type. As for buying a new graphics card well that may have to wait a bit. Will double check all drivers are up to date.

    Thanks again
