Thats because the Bethesda Fallout games are based long after the original ones IIRC,meaning all the control Vaults would have opened on time,ie,less than 100 years after the Great War,meaning the remaining Vaults would be the ones set aside for experiments and remember the control Vaults would only need to be a tiny sub-section of the entire Vault network since The Enclave/Shadow US government already had their own Vaults and bases in parallel, and all they wanted was to take their people and run away to another planet.

I don't agree with this entirely - if you have decent Charisma and other perks you can usually talk yourself out of situations without violence - done it many times in Fallout 4. However, you still need to consider this a destroyed world with people barely surviving - look through human history,it was not that uncommon when resources were short for people to start fighting and killing each other instead of working together.
In fact,my biggest gripe with the Bethesda ones and even the old ones is the finality of the endings if you finish the main story line. In almost all cases, you NEED to side with one type of faction against another type of faction. What would be nice is that you could try and negotiate a settlement or peace between factions,or even have them in sort of cold war state or even destroy all of them.
You can see this with having to destroy The Enclave in Fallout 2 and 3,the fact you could not negotiate between any of the factions in New Vegas, and I doubt its any different in Fallout 4. I mean the whole series has missed a trick in allowing you to explore The Enclave - in fact The Remnants in NV were the closest to doing that.
You might be an "agent of change" but a very limited one at that. You still need to kill and destroy at least an entire faction in all of them. The only way not to do is to try and avoid playing the whole main stories of the games, which means a very black and white choice.
Re: War... War never changes (who's playing FO4?)
280 hours and I've just finished platinuming it, could have been faster but I've been enjoying it too much.
I think I'm fine now though until the DLC comes out.
Best £45 I've ever spent and I still have my charisma bobblehead to admire!
However I STILL don't have a left leg for my MkVI X01!!

I am over 200 hrs in and have barely touched the story!!:p
Also,I have one complete set of X01,one almost complete set and a partial one.
There is one location which has a full set and its unmarked.
Re: War... War never changes (who's playing FO4?)
I found 2, both near crashed planes, I also saw a set when I was a low level in a cage next to some building but forgot where!
It was getting too easy with power armour, I have about 48 cores as well so I just went with my full set of synth armour mostly, purely cos it looks the coolest! I think I have about 8 sets of power armour, also 2 frames that show as 'steal' of I transfer to/from them so they're just in the corner totally blank.

Look here:

I have loads of power armour, but I rarely use it myself - I tend to give it to my followers as it increases their carry weight but its get damaged so quickly by them I have started to equip them with non-power armour now.
Re: War... War never changes (who's playing FO4?)
I noticed that too. I was always having to repair them!
I'm check out that place, just for completeness!

It appears I have 12 sets of Power Armour ATM. I have found another 5 sets at least, but none of them were X01 so didn't bother with taking them!!
Its kind of annoying the Power Armour is levelled to when you first explore an area - there were areas which I only explored a little and which I did a bigger exploration of at a higher level, and as a result got relatively low level Power Armour.
Re: War... War never changes (who's playing FO4?)
I have 3 full sets and a few partially built. On about 123 hours now and still got loads to do.

Its all a bit meh. But at least Nvidia bothers to market such things. AMD TressFX is the basis of the Purehair effects in the latest TR,and AMD is virtually silent in the matter.
Re: War... War never changes (who's playing FO4?)
Some DLC announced, http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=1185014
Cost of season pass will increase from £24.99 to £39.99 next month!
I'm only interested in story add ons not the crafting nonsense but that's £19.99 alone so I might as well buy the pass.
Shoddy way to treat players IMO, "buy this content you have no idea what it'll be like before we hugely inflate the price"
To be fair though I got the steelbook with a bobblehead for £45 so I've certainly had my money's worth already even if I paid the extra £24.99 and never used it!
Re: War... War never changes (who's playing FO4?)
I was so hyped for me after playing new Vegas and 3 I didn't quite get into it as much as I did with those other two, I guess it was just because it was different from them quite considerably. Hopefully once my exams are all over I can get a better go at it.

I waited a while before getting the game. Loved FO3 but never really took to New Vegas so I was a little nervous.
Found 4 to be great, 138 hours played before I finished main story, didn't 100% it but enjoyable to the end and well worth the ~£20 i paid for it.
Wish they hadn't bumped the price up on the season pass though, can't really justify paying over twice what I bought the game for on DLC.

I started with new Vegas so was kinda bias to it, lol.
4 is good I'm just not as addicted as I was yo new vegas, but a big think in new Vegas for me was the need to finish objectives slight ocd about it, just think I need to get used to the new interface.

I think my issue with New Vegas was that it felt like a lesser version of 3 to me, similar but not as good. With 4 I didn't get the same reaction, sure it was still similar but I liked the crafting changes and the game was good enough to stand on its own. Plus it probably helps that I made sure not to play any other games (except Rocket League) at the same time, so that I wouldn't get distracted.
