I love my multiplayer games. If you were to recommend me one, what would you choose?
Right now I'd have to say Rocket League. Really simple game to pick up but incredibly difficult to master.
Got my copy free when I bought a Steam Controller which I got to play other games with. Didn't really plan to play Rocket League so much but I've about 80 hours playtime in 3 months now. The game hooks you quickly, especially when playing with friends.

Another vote for Rocket League

Another vote for Rocket League, had a go at a mates, great fun, went from meh to straight on the wishlist; it's how football games should be done. Which is a really weird thing to say I know.
What I always say when asked this; Steam free to play page, go to most popular pretty much everything in the first 5 pages is good(taste may vary, of course). My own picks; Planetside 2, war thunder, Warframe, heroes and generals, mech warrior online. Not found any to be overly pay to win. Any of those will help you while away a saturday.

I keep looking at Rocket League also, certainly will be my next buy, it's under a tenner at the minute which is the cheapest I've seen it.

What's your gaming style?
MMO-wise, my family is split between Warframe (everyone else) and Neverwinter (me!). For a LAN RPG/Diablo 2 feel, Torchlight 2 is good fun in multiplayer as long as you match levels and aren't stupid about everyone running off on their own. Let's be honest Torchlight 2 is just a good game full stop, but it's a good game that's also good in multiplayer.
TF2's a good lark if you like FPS, and I know the left 4 dead series is popular but I've not tried them in multiplayer yet - I'm told that it's a much better experience (the single player mode is rather underwhelming).
Had a mate who played mechwarrior for a bit and quite enjoyed it, but I don't know if it's got enough depth to be a must have.
Drakensang absorbed a decent chunk of my time a few years back, and it fun to play teamed up with friends.
And if you like puzzle games, Puzzle Pirates does a pretty good job of combining multiplayer elements with puzzle games. Only downside is that you really need to be on a crew to get the best out of it, which means either doing a lot of jobbing until someone offers you a place on their crew, or getting together with a group of mates and forming your own.

I've quite enjoyed Robocraft over the years, but recent developments may have changed the experience so not sure how it will be at low levels. Fun to construct your own "tank".

Metal gear phantom pain, gta 5 and rocket league are all worth getting and have pretty great online modes too. Company of heroes is just awful and should be avoided like the plague

Just download ra1, it's free, runs on everything and multiplayer is easy.
Yes, it looks like crap but it's still one of the best RTS games of all time.
