Civilization 6 has been announced!

Hopefully it'll revisit the class "A" addiction of Civ 4, Civ 3 and Civ 2. Civ 5 is a 4/5 kind of good after the patches and DLC, but it's not quite up there with the others imo.
That's pretty soon! Graphics style is looking a bit cartoony for my personal taste, hopefully they'll rough it up for the actual release. Got plenty of play time out of 5, but just the basic game and skipped Beyond Earth as it was meant to be a bit similar. Maybe on the Christmas list :)Quote:

Honestly I don't even consider buying a Civ game any more until all the DLC has been released. Until then I see these more as a part complete experience, so I'd rather wait and buy much, much later.
Would you say Civ is like Age of Empires?
Not really, AOE was more of an RTS which is limited to the technology of the age in which its based, whereas Civ is a turn based game that spans from the begining of a civilisation right the way into the future.Quote:

Civ is turn based strategy and Age of Empires is real time strategy. AoE is steered towards the war scenario more, with Civ, war is more optional with different ways of winning such as the space race and cultural victories over the span of human civilisation etc. I think the Total War series is a bit of a mix between the two different styles as well.Quote:
