If your after some old school RTS try : http://www.openra.net/

They have rebuilt some of the C&Cs from the ground up to run on modern systems, best part is their free.

I actually used to play Homeworld 1 rather extensively as a kid, would be great to check out the 'remastered' version!
Their excellent, Gearbox really put some love into these and did a awesome job.

Ooooh, open source game engine? Now I'm intrigued - I could do with a side project or two now I've moved back into software engineering ...

    Hello Bsodmike, interesting thread.

I noticed in your opening message that you're a Resident Evil fan, both of the remastered HD games on PC are fun for a nostalgic play through, Res Evil Zero & the original Res Evil. And I think Capcom are planning to release 2 and 3 also.

    Here's the Trailer

Epic trailer and I so loved that game. That first moment when you're Jill and all vulnerable... epic.

Thanks, I'll grab it for sure. Lot of negative comments on the state of DLC in Warhammer

As for Shogun 2, http://store.steampowered.com/app/201270/, would you recommend Fall of the Samurai as well?

Ah, well I've been keeping tabs on MGS over the years, and mostly play MGSV and a few titles on the PS4. Used to have an Xbox and followed Gears of War a fair bit. That said, my gaming has generally been rather limited over the past 3-4 years as I've really been bogged down with work (http://desilva.io)

    Cheers M.

Fall of the Samurai is decent but after a while just feels like a minor re-skin of the original.

Ha ha! yeah they're both atmospheric and well re-done. Great to play when it's dark, windy and raining outside. I might need some adult diapers for Resident Evil 7
