Left handed gaming mouse - recommendations please

I'm hoping some of you lefties might be able to recommend a gaming mouse for a relative of mine who has a disability limiting movement/dexterity in his right hand.

The most complex games I imagine him playing are RTS titles like Rome Total War II

Obviously I can hit up google to see whats on the market (reading in another tab right now) but it would be good to hear from people that have had extended use of a product rather than a review based on a few hours interaction.

    TIA

I would have a look for symmetrical options. the gaming mice have LEDs and ridiculus DPI etc. They are mostly suited to FPS games.

I had a search a while ago (but I'm right handed).

Been a leftie for two years now thanks to a shoulder injury making right arm use painful.

Tried a few and ended up going back to the good old Microsoft basic mouse.

Re: Left handed gaming mouse - recommendations please

How much are you going to spend? Razer do a lot of ambidextrous mice but be prepared to spend north of £50 to get your hands on one. It is difficult indeed to recommend a mouse, the joke being that asking enthusiasts what mouse they like most will yield 25 different mice in 25 replies. I myself am partial to Logitechs but they are distinctly right hand models.

There are left handed Deathadders on Scan, I tried the right hand model my mate had and it was nice. Get a speed oriented mousepad and it glides like it was cushioned by air, it also helps that it is a relatively light mouse compared to the MX Revolution I had at the time.

The other one I tried recently was the Razer Orochi. Being a fingertip gripper, I prefer slightly weighty mice to aid with control, with weight balance closer to the user and if you're pernickety like my about the kind of movement resistance, you will be looking for a wireless mouse as well, or one with a soft braided cables so you don't feel the kinking. The Razer Orochi ticks these boxes but you are better off checking what kind of grip your relative has as this mouse is better suited to palmers or fingertippers. One of my mates who is a claw gripper distinctly likes center/slight front weighted mice.

I used this guide when selecting my (right-hand) mouse - they suggest the Mionix Avior 8200 for lefties.

Re: Left handed gaming mouse - recommendations please

I am using the old model Roccat Kova [+] at this very moment.
It's about 7 years old, I think and has been used non-stop Mon-Fri every day.

It's an ambidextrous mouse, with a pair of side buttons each on the left thumb and right thumb. Feels quite low and flat, but fits surprisingly well into Palm or Claw grips even on large Size 10 hands like mine (that's XXXL, for all you biker glove fans).

Buttons are not lightweight like Razer mice and you can rest the weight of your finger on them without accidental clicking, but not so heavy that it takes effort to click them.
The surface has a soft-grip coating that has barely worn through such heavy use and the wide scroll wheel is still solid. It also has an angled shape which helps with the 'Mouse 3' wheel clicks.

Discrete LED colours can be configured or completely switched off and you can store any settings, programmed macros and scripts on the mouse itself, meaning you can transfer it to another PC and still have all the functionality.

In summary, this works so surprisingly well for right-handers, so should be awesome for lefties.
Roccat have released newer versions of this mouse too, with even more buttons (again, all Ambi) and improved features.

The ONLY reason I don't use this as my gaming mouse is that my Logitech G700 has more buttons.
