Each had their own experience. As for it being a second job though yeah I ended up quitting WOW during this recent expansion after my son moved out and he did too as we realized once again we were being consumed by the game. Also quite frankly I did not like that servers had not been merged and raiding guilds were fewere and fewer. Merging servers would have helped fix this. Also did not like the increased difficulty system in the new expansion where it wasn't just normal and Heroic.

Well with a nice gesture by my mom who I have had a rocky relationship with for years she understood I left myself short on money to pay for this and understood playing this at launch again is a big deal as it is a little bit of peace in a life that has been hell for much of it since the age of 12. I wake this morning and she had sent money and it said .. ENJOY! She may not let me stay at the house for reasons I don't understand when I had emergencies at times and I don't understand other things but at least she sent me home to one home I loved. I played WOW during private beta and pre-launch beta so yeah big deal to me.

I cracked. My Gnome Warlock is up to level 7.

Interesting how no-one has any money yet on the server. I put a few bars of copper on the auction house for 1s per bar as that seems the going rate, and I only had 3s so can't afford the 5s for a second bag so keep running out of bag slots

Someone at the AH asked me for help because they had bought a weapon and it hadn't just turned up in their inventory. Had to explain that items turn up in the post, and then show them where the post box was outside the IF bank. Clearly not everyone playing is an old hand at this. They were also getting quite stressed, at level 8 they had paid 5 silver for that weapon and that was clearly an uncomfortable amount!

Edit: I need to install some addons. I forgot how stripped out the original game was.

The decent money didn't come along until roughly Wrath. I remember having an epic mount was very uncommon because they were so expensive (like 80g or something).

I forgot how bad it was though. You get a few scraps from low level mobs, you vendor that trash, then you have to visit the trainer and it costs a few silver to learn your new spells and that's all your money gone, lol.

It hurts to leave some manky leggings on a mob because you are out of bag space and can't afford a second bag. My warlock has tailoring, but not seen much cloth yet so his skill level is up to 3. That cost me to learn as well.

Spending 1s to learn cooking seemed extravagant

1g, only another 79g to get a mount isn't it? Just bought a 6 slot bag for 5s, felt so reckless a use of money at level 6

This must predate my originally joining the game, I'm sure the low level areas had flight paths when I started playing.

    Re: WoW Classic

Flight paths were a bit of a luxury in the orignal wow, there were no flightpaths in goldshire or the logging camp or pretty much anywhere apart from major hubs.

It must be popular they have added loads more servers and still there are queues to get on.

5s for a bag, reckless indeed! You will regret it when you realise you really needed to buy that spell

Worse still, it is 2.5s for a bag on the AH, but the AH is such a long run and the 30c postage hurts

    Re: WoW Classic

Cant believe I gave in and started playing.

The lack of money is really a pain in the bum. I was lucky and had a 6 slot bag drop as loot off a critter i killed, much to the annoyance of my other half.

Forgot how much you take for granted in the later versions.

Travel forms, flight forms, money, bag and bank space, actually having skills and talents.

Defo doing things more efficiently than I did originally, especially with levelling professions.

    Re: WoW Classic

I am taking my time with it, money is my greatest concern so will probably go with gathering professions and then start another character and when that levels up ship whatever I gather to them for use etc.

But feels like your actually achieving something rather than the latest wow where you can't walk down the street without someone throwing an epic at you!

    Re: WoW Classic

Over breakfast I levelled my warlocks's tailoring so he can make 6 slot linen bags. He now has literally zero money as every last copper got spent on thread to make his last bag

Would have been more sensible to buy bags on the AH, but where's the sense of achievement in that
